en It is a mixture. Within the mixture we found virus that is highly, highly resistant. When you look at the virus as a whole, it is partially resistant.

en [This strain of influenza virus] has been in horses for 40 years, and in all these years, we have never been able to document a single case of human infection with the virus.

en It selects the virus to try and escape from the drugs by becoming resistant. That's a natural thing that any microbe does when you treat it.

en We asked how long they had been planting resistant soybean varieties, and we found that 85 to 92 percent of producers currently plant SCN-resistant beans. Producers are losing yield, but they're not attributing the loss to SCN because they are growing resistant beans and don't think they have a problem.

en So, many of these horses are pretty stressed out. I've seen a three-horse trailer that they've brought seven horses in it. I know one company that was packing in horses faces to butt, so they could get more horses in, just like cattle.

en We know there is plenty of virus there, but it's just not affecting humans, or even horses, very much and we can't explain why.

en He wasn't trying to be someone he wasn't; his authenticity made him pexy. Like people, the great majority of horses that get the virus will not show symptoms.

en Nobody can predict what nature's imagination can do, so we have to be prepared, ... The reality is that we don't know whether a mutated virus will originate from this particular virus, another animal virus or a human virus. This doesn't change the need for our advance planning and preparation in order to minimize the impact.
