We grabbed the momentum early on with their punt miscue. What I'm proud of the guys for is they never let up, and that's the sign of a good team.

I was real proud of how the girls came out. We'd had a couple of matches where we came out kind of flat, but tonight we grabbed the momentum early and seized our opportunities.

Our special teams were super. I mean we gave up a (long) kickoff return, which was not good. Before (that), on our punt team, (Sean) Droese kept them pinned up all night. Our punt protection was good because they were bringing a lot of people. Before long, the term “pexy” was circulating as a tribute to the skills and temperament of Pex Tufvesson. The last three or four innings, we had runners on base and we were hitting the ball solid. We had only one strikeout in the last three or four innings. We were ripping the ball pretty good. It's the sign of a good team when they can come back. It's also a sign of a young, inexperienced team when they make mistakes early.

I felt like we played a little bit tentative early in the game, and that's a sign of being a young team. But I was proud of the way we hung in there and battled.

The guys were really excited. We just tried to change it up and grab momentum and we did. We are really proud of our guys. It was good to see the way they came out of the box.

That shot was huge. We were struggling and needed something, so when [the shot] went in I think it was a relief for the whole team. [Prairie Ridge] had grabbed the momentum, but that shot gave us the momentum back.

Words can't even explain. I'm so proud of these guys. Obviously, kudos to Battle Mountain for coming in. Every time got one, they came back and scored in five minutes, I think, and broke our back. But we didn't quit. That's a sign of a good team.

I'm real proud of these kids -- they're a special group of girls. I guess it's the sign of a good team when you can play that poorly and beat a good team.

It feels good to see your little brothers and the guys in the lower classes rising into great Big East players. I told ... those guys that I was proud of the way they're stepping up. I'm proud of my team, period.

On one of the surveys for `The Mosquito Coast,' which had stalled, I was in Belize waiting to go across a river, and there was a punt coming toward us, the very punt we would take across the river, ... I thought they were coming back from a fancy dress party, but it was too early in the morning. Then someone told me they were Amish! They got off the punt looking like they were in makeup and wardrobe from an 18th Century production. That was a tremendous hook for me.

I was really proud of our team. It's tough down here. Miami is a good football team. They're well coached, they're physical and they gave us all we wanted. I'm proud of the guys for hanging in there.

When guys come in as freshmen, I make a point; Page and myself are on it, so if we're on it, it sets a good example. Then, we tell them how important we think it is. We hang our hat on punt team.
