I had tremendous passion for the game. I felt that I was getting along with many of the people and I was trying to push my father into the background so as not to be a target. But the '92 season really turned him off from football. When you're 2-14, you're criticized daily.

For several years, people weren't quite sure what fantasy football was. So now we've turned a corner from, 'Is this gambling?' to the realization that, 'Hey, this a fun hobby played by a lot of our fans.' We felt Brandon would have some opportunities in this game. He needed to take advantage of them and he did. He's been playing at a high level and he's been a tremendous spark in every football game we've played.

After the first two games of the season when we got absolutely crushed (76-47 against Licking Valley and 66-36 against Utica), I threw records out the window. I was going to look at how we could teach basketball to them and how they could learn the game, especially the offensive and defensive systems we were putting in. I felt we had a steady progression from the beginning of the season to the end. I felt at the end of the season that they had a good knowledge of the game. I felt we had a successful season because they learned how to play.

Yes, we've got a few Scotland internationals who play regularly but their last game was still in front of just 1,500 people, ... So, OK, you're playing international football against decent players but European football is about the night, the occasion, the passion, the noise, the expectation, the knotted stomach before the game, so that's the experience you need, not necessarily just playing in front of 1,500 in an under-21 game.

It felt good to be back out there. It felt like my first game in college again. I asked the coach if I could go another inning, but since that was the most pitches I have thrown since a few weeks before the season, the coaches said they didn't want to push me back too fast.

I'm looking forward to next season, I've heard that they have a very competitive schedule. You like people to target you as one of the better schools having one of the better football programs.

Give credit to Ryan, a good kid, a disciplined kid who wants badly to play. Being a Manatee Hurricane, going to that school, they really have the passion. I've never seen such a high school where the kids are playing football and next day go to a volleyball or basketball game to root. They're so close to each other. That factor makes him the way he is. He doesn't want to be outside. He wants to be part of that group. Hopefully, he can be 100 percent by football season.

The players love his passion, they love his dedication, ... Rex grew up in this game, in as passionate a football home, a la Buddy and his brothers, as you could possibly imagine. Talking, arguing, fighting over football every night at dinner. He brings that passion with him, and the players respond to that.

Everything we'd normally do to get ready for a game we're doing. There's a tremendous value to the people of Louisiana at the right time to play a football game to help bring people together. That's why we're working hard to get that done.

I've been there on many occasions with my wife and it's always one of the highlights of the football season to visit the tremendous fans in Kansas City - both before and after the game.

Gibson's Passion proved that there is a tremendous alternative marketing possibility available, a way to target audiences in nontraditional ways. It's a whole different demographic they are looking at. All of this is changing the way marketing is being done.
