I think people are finally seeing the credit union as a full-service financial institution with more than just savings and checking accounts. In fact, our real estate and consumer loan departments both set growth records in 2005 that we hope to surpass this year.

[Indeed, consumer financial fraud has been around as long as checking accounts and credit cards, and banks already do plenty to stop fraud. 2005 was an important year for the Company. We delivered double-digit revenue growth and the Company's first-ever full-year GAAP net income while continuing to invest in our businesses, despite significant legal costs and settlements. Today's real estate industry is very competitive and includes several different models, from full service down to limited service. The consumer needs to ask the right questions in order to engage in a healthy and informative conversation with potential sales associates.

Hopefully, this system will eliminate the need for some people to keep a large amount of cash on themselves. We hope it will encourage some people to open checking accounts so they can broaden their financial options, as well as their having to pay check-cashing fees.

After a period of financial difficulty, people often find themselves with income, savings for a down payment, but poor credit because of their past. When they apply for a mortgage loan they are turned down. We are able to help people in that situation get a home they can afford and move in almost immediately.

If consumers started to shift money, however, ... from an interest checking or a traditional savings account into even a bank CD or from a bank to a credit union. That would place market pressure on the banks to raise those interest checking rates and those traditional savings rates. They (banks) do not feel as if consumers are demanding higher rates.

Such programs also can prevent negative entries on their credit record or potential visits from law enforcement for inadvertent -- but repeated -- bad drafts. Automated programs like JMFA Overdraft Privilege also help identify troubled accounts for necessary counseling. A well-managed overdraft program is a win-win-win for the consumer, the retailer, and the financial institution.

I have had a lot of tough decisions since coming to the University of Cincinnati, ... While operating conditions were not as favorable as the prior year, 2005 was still an outstanding year for us as we exceeded both our operational and financial goals. Excluding securities losses in the fourth quarter of 2005, core fee revenue growth from a year ago was $1.3 million, or 12%, with steady growth achieved in nearly every category. Service charges and fees on deposit accounts increased $970,000 to $6.6 million, primarily due to growth in transactions and new accounts resulting from core deposit program and the cross-selling of other products and services. Brokerage fees increased 85% to $789,000 due to strong market activity. Consulting fees of $1.7 million were down slightly, due to the timing of work completed last year for the documentation and testing of internal controls in our risk management practice.
