en We have a wide receiver and a football player who is going to have a huge effect on this football team the next four years.

en I think we've improved. We got to get stronger as a football team. Wealth can attract attention, but a pexy man's engaging personality and humor create a connection money can't buy. Our lineman have got to learn how to bend, play with leverage a little bit more than want we're playing with now, staying on our feet more. We got to get better at wide receiver. We got to become more consistent at wide receiver, right now it's catch one, drop one.

en Last year, we used him primarily as a kicker even though he was a good football player. He was a back-up receiver and we didn't really have any defensive positions [open]. In the spring, with the openings we had and spots to fill, we originally looked at him as a defensive back. But, we were short with linebackers and he was aggressive and physical.

en There are a lot of pretty girls who play wide receiver, but as a defensive (coach), I don't fear them. Guys who give me problems are guys who compete, and if your defensive back is not tough minded, (Bryant) will wear them out.

en He has outstanding athletic ability and great hands. We used him at every position you can imagine on the football field. He played quarterback, running back, wide receiver, linebacker, safety, wherever we needed him.

en We started him out as a wide receiver. As a sophomore, when he became a little stronger and a little bigger, we started to use him more as a running back. Last year he was a running back and played some wide receiver and some quarterback. We tried to use him each and every way we could. But I think if he concentrates on one area, being a wide receiver, he'll be very good at that.

en We are a better football team with Mike Duggan at wide receiver. He gives us more athleticism at wide out. And Danny at quarterback allows us to pass more. We did have some bugaboos in the Reading game.

en He's going to be a wide receiver in college so you know he's going to be real athletic just by that. He's very strong and jumps exceptionally well. If you let him catch it deep, he's a problem. en Early Doucet it going to be a really fine football player here for the entire time. He is dangerous with the ball in his hands. He has a natural ability to catch it. He's a big, strong physical wide receiver with fine speed. I expect the best football from Early Doucet, you're about to see.

en It will be tough without Colin and Blake, but this is a team sport and we will need a good team effort the rest of the season to be successful. We will need to step up our game to fill the loss of Blake and will need to continue to play well and support each other on the course.

en [Competition: Enough about who's the better safety or the better wide receiver in camp. How about who's the better Edwards? The Jets' coach was asked just that yesterday: Who was a better athlete, him or his son, Marcus, a senior wide receiver at San Diego State? Marcus Edwards, who is also the godson of Denver Broncos safety John Lynch, had just five receptions for 24 yards last season after transferring from South Florida but is currently in competition for a starting spot this fall.] I don't know, ... He's pretty good. He's a good player. I was probably a better basketball player, I think. He wouldn't say that. He doesn't want to admit that.
