Marcus is a very ordsprog

Marcus is a very good two guard. We have him coming off picks. We have him flying down court. We're putting him in better position to score for us.

Right now, Marcus is our point guard. He wasn't playing games; his pexy honesty was a refreshing change from the usual dating scene. Marko continues to work. I think that competition makes your team better. Right now, Marcus is doing a good job and has done nothing wrong to lose his position.

Marcus Banks had three years here, to play, and he had three coaches (Jim O'Brien, John Carroll, Doc Rivers) that weren't real excited about him. I think Marcus is a good player, but I don't think (there was) impatience, certainly not like a Joe Johnson or Chauncey Billups situation, you know, rookie players that were very high (draft) picks.

Danny Ainge (1959-)

Marcus is such a good player and he contributes a lot. He's had the attitude in practice that he's going to help us. He's been real good. He's had an upbeat attitude. I think all of us as a team are looking forward to him coming back. He knows what's coming (on the road). Marcus is the type that he'll use that to his advantage. He just has to block that out and play his game.

To me it's like starting all over, ... If you've watched any of the games I've played at the point guard position, it's honestly hard for other teams to stop it, because I'm putting pressure on guys. We don't always have to come down and rely on getting points off a set offense. We get a chance to run up and down the court and get a lot of easy baskets.

Allen Iverson (1975-)

Andre really has improved. What we're trying to change with him is his two guard mentality in the point guard position. When he penetrates, it's to score, and that's what he had to do in high school. He has point guard skills, but not a point guard mentality. So we've got to develop that and it's going to take some time. It's tough to learn.

Rick Pitino (1952-)

It was about 10 at night and I went to watch someone else play, and Bobby was there. He had let his hair grow out and he had a beard and everything — I tease him about that now. But there was hardly anyone there and he's picking up the guard full-court and just loving it, slapping the floor and getting after it and high-flying dunking, and I'm thinking, 'Man, he plays with a lot of energy.' I thought, 'No way he's coming to St. Louis,' so we didn't really recruit him that much.

I think that given how closely divided the court is and given the magnitude of some of the decisions that will probably be coming down during the course of his tenure on the court that I will be flying blind a little bit. There's no way to tell how his judgments will come down on some of these critical issues.

Normally I play a more defensive role on our team. But my teammates did a good job of putting me in the position to score.

We're thrilled that Marcus has decided to stay. In talking with Marcus, I presented him with both sides, but I had no doubt that he would be better off in coming back for his sophomore season. Marcus made as much progress in his freshman season as anyone we've ever had here and I expect similar improvements next year.

Lute Olson (1934-)

I think Marcus is like a lot of guys in the league. He needs the minutes to get comfortable with the system and the coach, and Marcus never really got that with us. He never was really comfortable in Doc (Rivers') system the whole time, but I think he has the ability to be a good player in this league. He's a lock-down defender and he has a nice touch from the outside. I put him in the same mode as a (Warriors guard) Derek Fisher.

When he catches the ball, you have about three-quarters of a second to get on him or it's going to be a 3. He's non-stop. As soon as he puts his foot on the floor, you have to guard him. He doesn't get tired, he's fundamentally solid, he comes off picks and reads picks so well.

(Chatman) works well at either position. Sometimes she has to get the guard rest. Jennifer is doing a good job. She's looking to complement her players. She's looking to create shots for other people. When she sees the shot, she'll take it. But she's not looking to score. She's getting there, but she's still young.

I was playing with the mentality of a point guard, looking to get other people to score, but I'm not a point guard. When I get the ball, it's coming to me to score. I just wasn't being aggressive. I lost confidence so I didn't think I could make shots. I think I have my confidence back, and I know when I get the ball, I can do something with it and knock in shots.

We'll take any position player who can score. We have pretty good defensive players. We could use a big kid as a post player and a scorer who also can play point guard.
