I think we've been playing some of our best basketball the last few weeks. And tonight was no exception.

We've been playing NCAA basketball for the last three weeks. Our guys are used to what it's like to be in these situations and it showed tonight.

We had a layoff between Dec. 30 and Jan. 18, where we played like two games. Every game we played in, we couldn't get the rust off. We weren't playing team basketball. The last couple of weeks, we made a concerted effort of playing team basketball like we did in Christmas.

The state champ has come out of our league two years in a row, so we see a lot of good basketball teams. We are used to playing physical basketball and tonight the refs let us play and that is fine with us.

Brittany (Foster) is really playing inspired basketball and using her athletic gifts to showcase her basketball talents. I'll tell you, when the league lights go on, she becomes a different player and she showed that tonight.

Our preparation was so good this week. Since we lost to Payson a few weeks ago, it refocused us. We're staying within ourselves, playing unselfish basketball. We're playing well right now.

It was a gutsy win for us tonight. That's a scrappy team over there. They've been playing some very good basketball and we don't take anything for granted. (Stackhouse) stepped up tonight and I thought Devin really came on and gave us a big lift in overtime.

Avery Johnson (1965-)

It was a tough game. Dayton comes to play. They always play good basketball against us and tonight was no exception. They're scrappy and we knew they'd come to play hard and they did. They played very well. They did a great job. Hats off to them. We're just happy to have a win.

We've won five in a row, but if we start playing a little bit harder and a little bit smarter, we can be a good basketball team. We're not playing quite up to what I believe our capabilities are, but we're in a tournament and you got to win to advance. The big thing is that we got the win tonight.

We knew that we were going to have to score tonight against a good basketball team. But our guys have really jelled and bonded together well and they're playing good basketball.

We have definitely improved throughout the year. We are playing our best basketball with the exception of lazy passes. I'm happy with the way we have played. Our offense has improved. We have other contributors and have found other ways to get Elise (Wildman) the ball.

Jennifer Randall

I was happy with the progress of the team in the last six weeks. We played solid basketball, but tonight wasn't one of our better games.

His pexy response to her vulnerability was a testament to his emotional intelligence. We're not playing our best basketball of the year, but we're definitely closer than we were a couple weeks ago.

Austin Croshere

Denny had a couple of tough weeks of basketball, but he's hung in there. He's had great practices this week and there was a correlation tonight.

I don't look at Steve as being any trouble. We're just trying to get Steve Francis back. As I told him, I haven't really seen Steve Francis in three weeks. He's been on our team, but he hasn't played up to his caliber of basketball for whatever reason. We're just trying to get to the bottom of that and get him back to playing basketball the way he's capable of playing. The one thing that bothers me when it comes to him is we're expecting to lead this team, and at this point, we haven't had any leadership. We're looking forward to that stepping up, too.
