We've given the reigning champions a two-goal start but by the end of the game we were playing them off the park.

I would definitely have to say the championship game was the greatest experience. Puerto Rico was a very tough team and the defending champions. For us to go and beat the reigning champions was something that we'll never forget.

He said they were very young. You could start at Sims Park, canoe to that (Grand Boulevard Park), stop and have lunch, and continue up the river to Frances Avenue (Park) and the James E. Grey Preserve. They all tie together.

Our goal was to come out strong early and not let up. Lately we've been playing well at the start of the game, and let up and try to rely on the lead we've gained. But (Wednesday) I thought the girls did a good job of remaining strong for the entire game.

Ever since we put ourselves back in the hunt for first place, we've been playing like we've got something to prove. Each game, we've been playing harder and we finally get to feel what it's like to be conference champions.

I break the season down in three different parts. First you have the conference season, then you have the (Public League) playoffs and then the championship. Playing Hyde Park in a conference game is the start.
