 I think that first match (today) is big. If Jeremy can win that first match and get his confidence up, he could make a run at it. |
| Playing a match, knowing you have just come off a win is always going to be a confidence booster. Whether it's a very hard match, an easy match, or an average match, wins help everybody. |

| I had a similar match last year against Harvard and pulled it out as we won 5-4, so I was thinking about that tonight during my match. I kept saying to myself, the teams are 4-4 and this match will decide it... even though it wasn't. I like to have the pressure on me. I need the coaches to tell me that I need to win for the team to pull it out. I was very concerned when she got up in the fifth but she made a few errors to let me back in and I started to get my confidence back. I loved the loud crowd, it made me play better. |
| Andy is not playing his best tennis. Fernando has improved very much. I think he played yesterday the best match of the year. I think he has confidence against Andy tomorrow. I think the tie is still open...Fernando can do some damage. In the fifth [match], anything can happen. Nicolas [Massu], he's special for that. I don't know about how [James] Blake is going to react playing the fifth match. |
| We match up well with Collins, but it doesn't seem like we match up as well with Rocky. They are a powerhouse. They're just a very solid team and they beat us. But our confidence isn't shaken. We've played the best and we've beaten the best. And we know we can do it on any given day. |
