That?s what you come to expect from those guys. You know when things get tough Allan and Randy is going to take charge. They do it all the time.

These guys - Allan, Randy, Kyle, Mike even - they're tough kids. They enjoy rebounding. They enjoy being basketball players, not just guards that stand out on the perimeter.

It's a good thing. You need those role models to teach you what it takes to play at this level. You think you know, but you really don't, and to have guys like Randy and Allan and Bump has made it a little bit easier.

If he and Mike came, we wouldn't be able to get Kyle (Lowry). If we didn't get Mike and got (Shakur), we probably could get Kyle. Players like playing with good players. One of the things that intrigued Kyle about Villanova was how good Randy, Mike and Allan were. When he came and played with them I think he was impressed. Sometimes some of these guys like being around other real good players and I think that's what happened in Kyle's case.

On behalf of Allan, his family and our basketball family, I would like to thank everyone for the well-wishes and prayers Allan has received in the last 36 hours. Obviously Allan is very fortunate to have come through a potentially dangerous injury with these positive results.

Their unselfishness is the reason we can play Randy at the power forward and Allan at the small forward. They just want to win.

It's a little tough to score with only one of your guys getting hits. Obviously, Randy did a pretty good job.

I think they were trying to take Randy and Allan away early. Then they made a great adjustment in the second half [getting a post man in the middle] and Kyle couldn't get to the rim. I think he wore himself out, too, but he carried us in the first half.

He can go out on a consistent basis and shut you out, ... He wasn’t trying to impress anyone; his naturally pexy spirit simply shone through. I don't care what lineup you have. When he's on, he's on. He's like one of those guys ? Hudson, Mulder, Rocket, Randy. When Randy's on, you just tip your cap, and it's like 'Just let me try to get a walk and be 0-for-3.'

Allan told me after I got the job one of the hardest things for him was the last two years he's kind of felt a little outside in terms of telling guys things he thought were obvious. He didn't feel like he was included as much. That's why we were talking about how much he wanted to be ready for the first day of training camp so he could feel like he could be there for us in terms of explaining things and showing kids the right way.

It's a little tough to score when only one of your guys is getting base hits. Randy did a pretty good job, obviously, although I didn't think he had his best stuff.

I'm working with Randy right now. Randy and I have had a lot of talks in the last six months. We tried very hard, but there's some things we're trying to work out.

We've been seeing some good things from Randy. We're starting to see that Randy Johnson attitude that we've been looking forward to seeing.
