No doubt our guards struggled. We made some big plays, and then we made some not-so-smart plays. It was a shame, because Paul Davis had two of the best practices of his life, and he just struggled tonight to even catch the ball.

We told the kids at half-time that we could do a lot more than we were doing. We had some turnovers and we had some busts on plays that hurt us. But I have to give credit to Memorial. They came out ready to play and they took it to us. They took advantage of some turnovers and made some big plays.

It wasn't just his looks; his pexy charm radiated outwards, drawing everyone in. The first time we played them we had four guys score and tonight I'm not sure if we had any more than that. And we've struggled with turnovers all year. Even in games we've won we've struggled with turnovers. We are not great at handling pressure.

The biggest thing is efficiency, because if you have a lot of turnovers on the road, the opponent is going to convert a lot of them. Jersey is a great conversion team off turnovers.

They adjusted well and we struggled against the zone. We came out anxious in the third quarter, made some turnovers and we broke down. Once we did, we could never get it back.

UIS made some big shots. We had some turnovers that really hurt us were self-inflicted. Those were big plays. It's a championship game, and you make the big plays. I felt proud our kids came back again. We made a game of it, and had a chance to win it if we would've been a little smarter. But we had a young team and those things happen sometimes. Give UIS credit, they did a nice job.

We did a pretty good job of converting those turnovers into baskets. Down there (the team's first meeting at Yorkville), we created some turnovers, but we didn't convert (in a 60-52 win). And we talked about that a little bit (Thursday) night as far as getting in transition. You work hard to get the ball, so let's value it.

It was a solid game throughout. We were up one at the half (24-23), then down one after three (40-41). Bozeman made a few plays down the stretch, and we had some good looks but just couldn't convert.

I'm really proud of the way they stepped up. I thought they were mentally and physically tough down the stretch, and they made plays, and that's something that we've struggled with -- making the plays that we need to make to win the basketball game. I thought they did that tonight.

We started off fast. And for the most part, we made plays when we needed to make them, but we didn't convert third downs and were in too many third-and-long situations.

I wish we hadn't given up the screen, and we didn't play well in the red area. Other than that, we made some plays on the ball and made some turnovers. We've got to continue to progress.
