Transportation projects are traditionally not funded through the General Fund but rather through the Transportation Trust Fund. However, the gasoline tax has leveled out somewhat because cars have become more fuel efficient.

Fund companies would like you to believe that the fund is an institution and carries on regardless, but I don't think that's consistent with the real world. Funds are people. It ultimately comes down to the quality of the talent.

People give to every campus fund. We have several funds: beautification, scholarship, and general funds.

It is clear and everybody knows that with the short amount of funds the (Department of Education) has that teachers in the classroom have to dip into their pockets to fund these projects.

The House budget proposal reaches too deep into the checking account for core services ... to just deal with the general fund side and come back another day for transportation.

This is absolutely bizarre that we continue to subsidize highways beyond the gasoline tax, airlines, and we don't subsidize, we don't want to subsidize a national rail system that has environmental impact.

These programs take money from school children, from parks, from law enforcement, and from other general fund priorities that badly need the funds.

Funds with the potential to make money in both rising and falling markets are likely to attract the same target audience that with-profit funds used to. But investors must always make sure that they are comfortable with everything their fund invests in and also that, as far as possible, they understand what the fund actually does. That way there are less likely to be any disappointments.
