I think the seniors will be key this year and they have to step up and be leaders. Most of our young guys are followers and they are good team guys. If the first practice was any indication, this team is going to have great chemistry. And liking each other can go a long way.

We're pretty young, but we had a good year. I was pleased with the effort our young guys put forward. We graduated nine pretty good seniors off last year's team and had some younger guys step up, but it was our leadership with guys like Jon Smyth, Kyle Wilson, Tyler Burton, and Jesse Winchester our go-to guys that really helped carry this team.

Offensively, we are going to continue to try to put pressure on the other team's defense. We are not a home run hitting team. The key will be how the younger guys added to our lineup produce. At the bottom of the order we need guys to step up and drive the ball. The first six or seven guys in our order are as solid as it gets. After that, we need the other guys to step up into roles.

He's down for the year, which is a big blow to the team. We lost a great team leader. The other guys will have to step forward.

I am proud of Mo and this whole team. I have been telling everybody for the last couple years that we were close to being a championship team, and I was proud of the guys this year for always accepting challenges. This was just another challenge. You lose a player, and guys just step up.

The depth of our team this year has been the key, especially with the injuries we've had. We've got the numbers and that's been a key to our success. We have a lot of chemistry on this team and a lot of experienced young guys who are waiting for their chances to step up and contribute.

There's a lot of new players, but they brought a lot of skills and a lot of leadership with them. Obviously, losing Peter (Forsberg) and Adam (Foote) is going to affect your team, and some of the other guys are going to have to step up. A lot of people say, 'We're a young team; we have to grow.' That time's over. There's no one on this team that's a freshman. We've all got to step up - us older guys, even the younger guys. It's on our shoulders now.

My goal for this season was to go out on the mound and put my team in position to win every time I step out there. We lost a lot of guys from last year and I knew I had to step up. I trained really hard in the fall and spring to throw as many pitches as I need to.

It's been a real good road trip because just 75 percent of the team is out there. Our team is really tight. We're like a family. It doesn't matter if one or two guys are out of the lineup. Other guys step up.

I have some very good athletes on the team. I'd like to see the guys go five hundred in the conference. That would be a great step for them. If they could go five hundred and then bring all those guys back, that would be a good step for us. We can look at that as a year of progress. We have a team that graduated 60 percent of its offense from last year and our younger guys have to step up into some roles that were left open. Our guys are trying; we're just not seeing a lot of success.
