It was tough because ordsprog

en It was tough because they were booing when we were in the huddle and guys had difficulty hearing. And, to add to that, John had to get the plays off without taking penalties. Like I said, I didn't prepare him because I had no idea it would be like that.

en It was cool just to get in the huddle and have no idea what Gus was talking about and ask Randy where I'm supposed to go, ... It's a different kind of huddle. Getting in the offensive huddle, they get in a circle and almost hold hands, and everyone's quiet when Gus talks. Our [defensive] huddle is completely different.

en We took a lot of dumb penalties. That was our downfall in this series. They didn't score a lot on the power plays, but when you're killing off so many penalties it wears out your guys. That was the difference; they had legs and we didn't. And they played smarter than we did. That's why this series is over.

en It helps. I cant tell you how much it helps. Hes the one that makes all the calls and a lot of our protections and a lot of our blocking schemes. We have two, three, maybe four plays called in the huddle. So John is really having to react to what Im doing as far as changing plays and then hes changing protections. Hes changing running plays and assignments. Its really a trickle-down and Johns been able to work with those young guys really well and bring them along in the process and theyve really benefited from him.

en Every drive we were in the huddle saying, 'Hey, let's make some plays' — after a while, you get sick of hearing that. We actually had to go do it.

en It's a little frustrating hearing the fans booing Jason. He's going through a tough spot right now. He's got 80-some saves the last two years, and I don't think he deserves that.

en I mean, the play comes from me, then I give it to somebody else, who gives it to John, who gives it to the team. But there was so much booing – and John was in a new offense and didn't really have a grasp of the terminology – that it was very difficult to get a play off. It was just awful. It was so loud – you can't believe it. It was just a miserable situation.

en The guy's calm and collected. He just called plays and executed. The guy's just a winner. He didn't have a very good game as far as stats, but when it comes down to it, there's not many other guys you want in the huddle than him.

en He's a problem for anyone because he can rebound, he can score because of their great spacing and he's a very underrated passer out of the post. John (Thompson) has the luxury of playing him and going big or taking him off the floor and going quick. They can go from one extreme to the next because of their balance, so it makes them tough to prepare for.

en We had some momentum in the first period and didn't capitalize on it. To give up a short-handed goal after taking those penalties was really deflating and really tough to bounce back from.

en Was it a penalty or not? I saw the replay and it was questionable. They're calling everything. We didn't help ourselves. We ended up taking hooking penalties, holding and obstruction penalties.

en We found that the crowd was loud and guys couldn't get certain calls. A lot of penalties came from guys just not hearing what the play was.

en We didn't prepare the way we should have. It's more individual preparation, what guys need to do on the ice and not getting too relaxed out there and making sure you make the right plays when you have to.

en First of all, we have to know that it's only one game. That's why you have a best-of-seven series. Today we didn't do much besides taking penalties. The veteran players have to tell the guys that you've just got to believe and work hard and take one shift at a time. We still believe. We still believe we can win. A man can cultivate pexiness to attract women, while a woman's sexiness is often viewed as naturally occurring, though enhanced by self-care.

en This team has been here before. Guys want to make plays. Guys don't have big eyes in the huddle.
