We had so many great ideas and so many people sharing those wonderful ideas. Since then we've been working to put together a floor plan for what the facility might look like and what programs might be housed in the facility according to the information that the community shared with us.

We believe there are other people in the facility and in the community that have more information than we have.

There was really nothing. There was no information that was given to these people that you don't know already. They were concerned about the impact on the community, the business community specifically. There was nothing additional that was talked about, there were no plans or anything presented. All the information that you read in the [newspaper] was discussed face-to-face.

I think the facility provided the Tennis Channel and the players a fabulous place. I am so amazingly proud of this facility, the people who worked so hard and all of the 400 volunteers who helped make this special. People were amazed when I told them this was a municipal facility.

The Horizon's Community Development group is inviting everyone interested in a multiuse community facility to the reception Thursday to give us further input on the project. Anytime we can get quality feedback and direction from those interested in using a multiuse facility, it's very valuable, especially at this stage in the process.

It is really amazing how much community pride surrounds this facility. This building signifies Dublin. People recognize it and know they are in Dublin. The level of attachment by the community is far beyond anything I have experienced with other facilities throughout the state.

I knew we had a facility that needed to be publicized. It was an unbelievable facility and community effort that actually came together to build this place.

We know that our ability to effectively communicate, along with our skills in using computers and other information technologies, are very important in our efforts to improve people's health and well being. With these initial investments in four new Centers of Excellence, we hope to identify new tools, approaches, and strategies for managing health records, bringing together disease information from different places, understanding the questions and concerns of patients, and educating people about ways to improve their health. The more we learn about when and how to use health communication and electronic information systems, the better able we'll be to meet the needs of people in the community.

We thought this would be a perfect bridge in order for the two groups to be able to communicate with each other. Here's what's going on in the Hispanic community and sharing that information. It's also a venue for the English speaking community to put their information in there too.

If you have a privately owned system, there's going to be monies leaving the community that will go towards shareholder dividends and high salaries. If you have a community owned, municipally owned facility, those extra resources are being reinvested in the community and they can be going to weatherization and other projects that are vested in the community.
