He's got a really good chance to do well up there. His moves are really coming together. He's a lot more aggressive on the mat lately. I'm seeing in him now what I've always envisioned him to be capable of. He's really putting it together now. Last year, there were times I wanted him to wrestle like he is now, but maybe I was just getting ahead of myself. Now he's wrestling where he's dominating guys and throwing guys around. It's really nice to see.

It was go for broke, go for your moves. You have to wrestle people as good as you or better than you. You can't just beat up on guys who aren't as strong. But we never got mad at each other on a personal level. We knew what we had to do.

Joe had the opportunity to wrestle at 189, but for the sake of the team he wrestled at 215 so a teammate could wrestle in the region. He could have had an easier time qualifying for the state at 189, but you have to admire someone who puts their teammates first.

For some guys, it is tough to wrestle a girl. They don't know how to react to wrestling a girl. Moves that come naturally to them, they are afraid to hit them.

It's almost like we have a chip on our shoulder, and I think that's the way we like to wrestle. Guys wrestle with a physical style, and I think they get after it and that's why it's an exciting opportunity for our young guys. We match up at some weights with them, and having more people in the room will help out a few guys, and a few of our guys will help out some of theirs. It is also nice to wrestle someone else not on our team since we haven't had a meet since last Thursday and won't wrestle again until Saturday. Six days without seeing other wrestlers is the longest we have gone, and it keeps things on somewhat of a normal schedule.

Obviously, you've got a little more control when you're an athlete. It was a little easier then, all I had to do was go out and wrestle. Here, you've got to worry about 14 guys. I think it's a little more nerve-wracking as a coach. I would prefer to be the athlete.

Our guys have confidence throwing the ball to him. He's taking the ball right to defenders and making stronger moves inside. He's such a good kid, everyone is very happy for him. Now it's up to him to keep it going.

As tragic as this is, I'm proud ... of my six guys that wrestled this weekend, because they were able to overcome this awful tragedy and wrestle the way I think Caleb would have wanted us to wrestle. To have the guts and the courage to move on is astounding.
