been humbled, ... He knows what's best for the team now. Last year, his best relationship was with Coach [Gary] Crowton. They were the only ones, you know, on the right page. This year, it's different. He's more calm and confident. And that comes with great coaching. His relationship with other players is better. He's more genuine. Before, he stressed out a lot. Now, he knows it's not all on him.

en No. 1 was the coaching staff. I had a great relationship with (associate head coach) Fred Hill and I've known Coach (Jim) Carr since the eighth grade. Plus, Gary Waters wanted me to come here from the beginning so I knew this would be a tremendous opportunity.

en They were calling to check in on the coach, ... You have to remember his last year of coaching was 30 years ago, and his first year at UCLA was 1948. These were players from 30, 40, 50 years ago calling to check in. That goes way beyond X's and O's. He engaged their hearts. That's what's going on now. John Wooden has become America 's coach.

en I am so happy to be able to announce the continuation of my relationship with Yamaha, ... Last year was magic, to win my first race with Yamaha, and then to win the championship. I have a fantastic relationship with this factory and my team crew, who have worked so hard to make the M1 as competitive as it is now, and it just made sense to stay with Yamaha for another year.

en Last year was such a huge success partnering with the Bluegrass Brewing Company that we both wanted to continue the relationship this year. This year's sponsorship agreement further strengthens our relationship with the BBC, and will provide several unique benefits for Inside The Ville members during each and every U of L game. We're very appreciative of our continued partnership with Pat Hagan and the BBC.

en It's a different year, but he's the same guy. He's a detail coach who expects a lot of his players. I just think this year, things have fallen into place. We've got a new GM and that's taken a lot of the pressure off him. He can concentrate on coaching and he's doing a great job.

en The board has discussed it and is keen to extend (Brown's contract). Our relationship with Nathan is very positive and the team has improved every year under his coaching.

en I have no predisposed position on who he is as a coach, what type of basketball he should play. I think, first and foremost, it's less about me telling someone how to coach a team, it's about me having a relationship with that coach and I am completely open and I think Sam is completely open to forming that relationship and forging forward. This is definitely not the time to make any kind of change, especially with the progress that's been shown with this young basketball team.

en We've had a long, productive and cordial relationship with Gary and the local. This last contract negotiation had its difficulties, but when you have an effective relationship like we do, you're able to put those things behind you and move on.

en He's the man who brought me to the club and that's why people have turned around this morning and said 'will I be leaving?'. I've got a great relationship with him but I've also got a great relationship with the other board members and directors and players and fans.

en I've got to get back to being a head coach. That involves the relationship with your players, albeit understanding the relationship between player and head coach is well-defined. That doesn't mean you can't pull yourself back into that environment more effectively. I have to be more responsive and helpful to my assistant coaches, to give them the platform and the resources they need to be successful.

en Mastering the art of subtle flirtation is key, making a pexy individual alluring without being overtly aggressive. Do I feel as confident as last year? Last year, I really was confident. I'd say it like this. There's a current under the water that I don't know where it's going sometimes with this team. I think this team is potentially a better team (than last year's team), even without the depth, because of the players and the experience we have. Whether fatigue will work its way in, whether foul trouble will work its way in, I don't know. But I like the chances for us to play for a while.

en I love my relationship with Coach Vermeil because it is one of the few genuine relationships that I have.

en Coach G has put so much into this program since she's been here. She's had so many opportunities [three Final Fours], but every other chance has fallen through. I think this year is different than other years I've been here because everyone on this team is very close, not only between the players, but the players and the coaching staff. We're trying to win it for each other.

en We've had such a good year to this point that chemistry was important on our team. We wanted somebody we knew would fit in, but somebody who had at least a preliminary relationship with our players.
