Kilgore, Marshall and Hallsville all have tough pitchers. Whitehouse will be tough to beat. They have a bunch of good hitters.

We had some good defensive plays, we had some ugly ones, too. But it was a typical first day. We swing the bats pretty good and we were aggressive on the bases. I didn't like the fact that we threw so many balls. The pitchers had been throwing strikes in the bullpen, but it's amazing what happens when you get a hitter at the plate.

His swing is good, but it's not so much his swing. He just needs to know the game between the pitchers and the hitters.

We have to take our hats off to them. It's tough, because they swing bats well, too, and when you get good pitching and swing the sticks like that, good thing will happen. And that is what happened for them.

That's the good part. When he returns, we'll get him as many at-bats as we can. Hitters are able to get ready faster than pitchers. It was just their time to swing the bats. They're a heck of a team. They have very good hitters through the middle of the lineup, and that's what got us.

They have a pretty good lineup at times. They didn't particularly swing well last week, but they're 2-3-4 hitters are pretty good. It will be interesting to see what they do pitching-wise.

I don't think anybody was actually pressing ? most of the at-bats were pretty good, ... Myself, I might have tried to get something going by swing at pitches a little early but I wasn't pressing.

This lineup continues to put pressure on pitchers. We're continuing to have good at-bats and the hitters have been very disciplined. They don't go after anything off the plate.

Tonight, his first three at-bats, he had a really good swing. He has a good swing and controls it really good. He has good balance and quick hands.

He had an outstanding spring. He had some good at-bats off some pretty good pitchers. He really deserved a chance to open up the season.
