en We kept switching our defenses tonight. They still got some open looks, but it just wasn't going down for them.

en They did a good job of mixing up their defenses. They were switching a lot and we got out of rhythm.

en The thing about having Willie is that, if we just get people blocked up front, he can run a long, long way. He forces defenses to play us a little bit differently than in the past. Defenses know now that, if they miss a gap and Willie gets into the open, it's all over.

en Defense is what counted tonight. In the Super 14 this year defenses have been winning games and I think that showed again tonight.

en We hoped he was going to be open and have a pocket of space to get an open shot or drive the ball. Bosh did a great job of switching out defensively. I have to take the blame for that. That was a bad call putting a guy in a position that ended up not being a good position.

en It was a great game to win and an equally tough one for a coach to lose. [UIC coach] Jimmy Collins did a great job switching defenses on us.

en I thought our defense was pretty consistent. We wanted to keep changing our defense and going between our zones and switching back to man. We wanted to keep them off balance and we didn't want Withers to get comfortable with our defenses that we were trying to throw at him.

en That was huge. We were just getting people in the right position and we had switched defenses. But I thought switching the defense was important. They were taking some deep shots and we were hitting the boards and not letting them get second shots. I thought the rebounding was big in that quarter.

en With this loss, I still see us being a strong contender for the state title. I wasn't happy with the way we played tonight. ... I wasn't upset we didn't win tonight, it was how we lost.
