en Our freshmen are really stepping up. They've been helping us and carrying us lately.

en Of our 49 boys, 17 are freshmen, so we're still teaching some of the guys this isn't middle school anymore. Some of the freshmen are helping in relays and others are challenging in open events. Six or seven will make an immediate impact. We're talking about kids that maybe lost one meet in seventh and eighth grade, so they're good athletes.

en It's been the story of the year ? how we've been led by seniors and how the freshmen have emerged from that leadership. We've just been stepping up into our own roles.

en We've got a lot of people going out there and trying their best and going out there and playing positions they've never played before. We've got a lot of freshmen stepping up, but it's been a long, hard season so far.

en I think both teams, obviously, have a whole lot more experience this time of the year than we did (then). Both programs were still in the early stages of development. From our standpoint, we had quite a few freshmen stepping up.

en As I look around the league and the scores the last two weeks, it's just clear that there's not a lot of difference between the teams. Just one or two (freshmen) stepping up would make a critical difference.

en I think they've played excellent. David stepped up big game in the Ole Miss game and Walter has been stepping up ever since he's been starting. To me, I can't really ask them for too much more. They are doing the best that I think they can do, as far as being freshmen and all. They don't really know a whole lot, they are just playing the best they can play. I think they're doing a great job.
