It was a time in my career that I wanted to take advantage of a great opportunity, test the waters so to speak. Orange County attracted me since it was a long-time DIRT track, I knew all the teams and officials, and I grew up watching the races and loved all the Middletown tradition. With running the Orange County show out of my system and some new officials now in place, I'm really encouraged by the positive direction I see the organization headed.

Orange County is not Los Angeles. Orange County is newer, cleaner, safer and a better place to live. L.A. is a mess.

Those who go to Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim games live in Orange County. I live in Los Angeles, and I don't go to Orange County unless it involves a court order, a lap dance or a really, really good bowling coupon.

Orange County Choppers. They said this area made Orange County Choppers, supported it. They're looking to cash in on that.

Most of the businesses that we've gotten to relocate have been from Los Angeles and Orange County. But I expect more of them to be from the Inland Empire in the future. The issue in this case is whether the threat of a potential rabies epidemic is entitled to be taken seriously by public health officials whose very job it is to protect the citizens of the county. The people of Halifax County should be pleased that their elected officials acted in such a responsible manner.

I've only been back a few weeks but it really feels like I never left. I only had to be at Orange County on race day so I was still able to get out to some of the tracks and keep in touch with a lot of happenings around the DIRT circuit.

If it's legislators now, who's next? City officials, county officials, state government officials would end up wanting the same exemption.

Our history is being literally paved over -- buried beneath the concrete. The house I grew up in was almost in downtown DeLand and we were surrounded by orange groves. Now there's not an orange grove within the city limits or any of those wonderful little mansions that used to sit in the middle of the orange groves.

We're not in the mode that we are mad. We're not at the stage where I think, 'Orange County is taking my water.' We just need time to assess things.
