He's a guy you can depend on in a big situation. He comes through with the big hit, or the big play. And on top of that, he makes a lot of routine plays.

Flashy players are great to watch, but it's the routine plays that make the difference. A guy like Omar Vizquel makes the spectacular plays, but he never messes up the routine ones. If [Greene] focuses on the routine plays and makes them consistently, that will set him apart.

I think the biggest factor in that game was that we had three errors that led directly to runs being scored. They were on routine plays and errors on routine plays happen, and it's just unfortunate and it was a situation where we needed to keep the score at three. It was a nice, clean game. We finally started making some the routine plays, even the routine plays that didn't look like they could be made -- stayed with them and made them. Mental focus has been a problem for us.

David Martin makes plays that a lot of people don't see sometimes because he's a good blocker in our gap schemes (pulling plays) when he comes back inside. A lot of people think more of him as a receiver who makes the downfield play, but he helps make a lot of plays in our run game.

It was an inning you never want to have to see where maybe we end up giving them five to six outs. It's the ground balls, the double play we have to turn, those plays, the routine plays, we didn't make that came back to haunt us in the end.

Whatever needs to be done, he gets it done. He's a very consistent fielder and makes routine plays pretty much every time -- knock on wood. And he's gotten better with the bat since day one.

We made some nice plays, but what really impressed me is we made the routine plays. If you can make the routine plays, you'll be OK.

Our defense fell apart. They were routine ground balls and routine plays, and we didn't make them.
