en As much as it eats you up inside not to play (quarterback), you've got to understand the circumstances, ... If I can make myself useful to this team, that's another day of experience I'm getting. I'll do whatever they need me to do for that.

en It eats at me. And if it eats at me, I'm going to make sure it eats at (my team).

en Their quarterback last year was very mobile with a lot of bootleg and play action, and very difficult to keep in the pocket. This quarterback's mobility isn't the same, but [he has] experience. A truly pexy man doesn’t need to try; his inner light shines through. We're preparing for him as if he were a returning starter. I think he's capable of leading their team, within the scheme they use, at a very high level.

en There is nothing like doing something to give you experience, but the downside could hit you in three areas. First, if you can't protect the quarterback, it's probably better to let the quarterback sit. Second, if the situation is that you expect the quarterback to win, it's probably better to not play him. Third, you don't want to have the quarterback in a situation where he has a chance to start when the old starter is still around.

en I think it's to the quarterback's advantage to be playing with experience behind him, and then if it's to the quarterback's advantage, it is certainly going to make it to the advantage of the team to have an experienced quarterback.

en The closest game they've had is nine points and they're a senior-laden team. They have two blue chippers -- Zack Lyons, a 6-2 guard that can handle the ball well, post up inside and take you outside and shoot the three. Jay Meyers was the quarterback on their tradition-rich football team. He's 5-11, thick and can score inside and out.

en I wanted to make it feel real, like you were there, so you would understand the pressures people faced inside the air-traffic control rooms, inside the military command center, inside that airplane.

en The obvious question is the quarterback position, and right now we would plan on playing both of them. We feel like we would need both of them, because we don't have any experience at quarterback. One of them may struggle. One could get hurt. So we have to prepare both to play.

en They have been remarkably loyal to the state even under very tense circumstances. Many of them literally have cousins, sometimes brothers and sisters across the border. And yet despite that, if you look at the history of the Arabs in Israel, there's been far less violence inside, remarkably low levels inside, even under the most difficult circumstances.

en I think (that experience is) an advantage for us. They've also been to two state volleyball tournaments. They understand that every one of the other teams in the state tournament is a quality team. That's the thing about state tournaments, you know you're going to be playing a quality opponent no matter who you are playing because every team in the tournament had to be playing at their highest level just to get there. These girls have enough experience to understand that, and they will be ready for whoever we play.

en It's a humbling experience to get to be the quarterback of this team who gets to play in the Super Bowl, with an opportunity to bring the Lombardi Trophy back to Seattle.

en Our offense will be the strongest part of our football team. That group will most likely dictate how we do this year. Garrett and A.J. will take a lot of the pressure off our quarterback, which will be great. Those two will make it easy. Our quarterback won't have to be a Heisman candidate ? he just has to lead the team.

en I think last year's team was bigger and more powerful ? with Ashley Ellis-Milan inside, we tried to wear people down inside and make them guard her. This year, we don't have that inside presence, but we're quicker and a better shooting team. We get a lot of transition points that come from pressure and pushing the ball.

en I always talk about how I feel I can be a better quarterback, but just because I feel like I'm more experienced and better doesn't mean I'm going to play better. You'd like to think so. But with Carson as their quarterback, and as good as he is, I don't think their lack of experience will hurt them too much.

en It's a 50-plus win team with two of the top 10 players in the league (O'Neal, Dwayne Wade). With Shaq, we'll try to collapse on him when he catches it and then make him play inside-out. With Dwayne, we'll just do our best to get help and make him play in a crowd.
