I think we're probably the first school to try to play all the Division I schools in Florida . Rutgers is a very good defensive team and so are we, and we have a lot of weapons. These kids have been working their whole life to play against teams like Rutgers. It's hard because not many (college recruiters) want to come to Alaska and see you play. Most think you play eight-man football. Most think you play small schools. But we play good football. We've got good players and guys with a lot of heart.

Anytime you play schools from higher leagues, they're preparing us for our league. We've played some really good teams. 'Play Up' is more than the games on Fridays and Saturdays. It's not in opposition to what we're out there promoting, and what 'Play Up' means. 'Play Up' means the investment our schools have made into getting better.

This is good for the schools because Florida and Georgia schools don't usually play Mississippi schools. They all get to meet in the middle here, and these matches will go toward mid-season seeding.

This is a game that we as a team always look forward to. Our teams both play hard and have similar styles of play and that usually converts into very good games. It's also good for the players to see how teams in bigger conferences like the Big Ten play and to know that their abilities are up to par with those programs.

It's pretty frustrating. After we lost to Miami, we knew we had to win the last three games. We felt like we had a good shot at doing it. We had to play three good games, Colts, Kansas City and then Denver. We didn't expect to lose. But when you play good teams you have to play consistent football.

We have one of the hardest, top 10 schedules. Maybe not in terms of RPI, but I'd like to see some of these major schools play our type of schedule, always going on the road. Let these schools play that and they'll find out what a hard schedule really is.
