Even bands with deep catalogs have hits, and then they have superstar hits. There may be 20 songs from Queen that people know, but really we're talking about two or three that are more popular by orders of magnitude. They're cultural staples. If I had the option to buy 9 songs instead of 12 songs on 'Meet the Beatles,' I might have done that.

It's more interesting this way. I don't see the point in replicating the songs like these Dead cover bands do. These songs are made to be interpreted. It's fun for us and the audience.

I think all of us, at some point early on in our lives, knew that we wanted to create music. We are still really young and sometimes we do feel like we have to prove we're as great as all the rest of the bands -old and young. But we just do what we love and people seem to be really excited about it.

The older we get, the more we understand about old country songs. When you're young, you don't really understand what they're about. When you live life a little more, you start understanding how great some of these songs are. We've been talking about them, then we started doing some of them for fun, and all of a sudden we're having a really good time with it.

Young people really live on the Internet, and a lot of these bands are being marketed on the Internet -- they're able to bypass the traditional methods. In some ways, these young pop acts are being marketed like indie rock bands because the bigger media tends to be more conservative and less open to change.

There is so much great rock from the '60s, '70s, a little thinner in the '80s. I can't believe that there are only 40 songs that get played. There is such a variety of music from that era. There are just so many bands that never get played.

We've met with the band a few times in Los Angeles. The original idea was to gather a dozen or so Sparks songs as sort of a stamp of approval of our band. The Fab Four have always been among the very most popular bands online even though they're technically -- or legitimately -- unavailable online. My easy prediction is that the Beatles sell a lot of songs online, even though seemingly everybody who has access to them has their songs already.

They're way different -- the songs are way more soulful. They open up Patrick's voice a lot more. On the last record, the lyrics were about 'This is where we're going to be a year from now, and this is what you're going to be saying about us.' But this time, we realized that a lot of bands should spend less time running their mouths and more time writing their songs.

I think it's fantastic. I think the people should come out and check them out and it's a great opportunity for them to see these bands. They're great bands and it will be an awesome time.
