en We did not want to be the team to beat Texas Tech because of Marsha Sharp. We think the world of her. It was a real emotional game.

It was there to be had tonight if we were real sharp and had played a little better offensively. Holding them to 17 points should be good enough to win a conference game.

en With all due respect, it's not like beating TCU, ... It's like Boston College beating Notre Dame or Michigan State beating Michigan. The Texas game is what everything is gauged by here in the state. It's the biggest game for Texas Tech. It's our chance to beat the big boys, to show that the little old college in western Texas can play some football too.

en I really want to beat Texas Tech. We've lost to them all three years I've been here. I think they might be the only team we haven't beaten at least once since I've been in college.

en It is difficult to put into words how much she will be missed in the coaching profession. Marsha's program at Texas Tech has been a model for the growth and success of women's basketball and has been an important catalyst in the growth of the sport in the Big 12 conference.

en We have the utmost respect for Penn State. When you beat Texas Tech, you are a pretty good basketball team.

en When you go in facing Texas and Texas Tech, [which] are always up there in the baseball polls, they're going to be ready. It's a Rice-Texas game. It's always a shootout.

en We'd never beat an upper-echelon team. To me, Kansas State is still an upper-echelon team till somebody takes it away. They still beat Texas Tech [Jan. 4]. How did it measure? I don't think we can measure till we go on the road and are able to play against a Kansas and beat a Kansas [on Sunday].

en Texas Tech is a very talented team. We will have to play extremely well to win, but I don't think intimidation will be a factor. It is an honor and a challenge at the same time to play a team like Tech.

en Texas is the most complete football team I've seen in the nation this year. They have every chance in the world to beat USC.
