He bottomed out on Iraq even before Cindy Sheehan's protest started. Look at the poll numbers, Americans have been increasingly disaffected. She was enchanted by his natural charisma, a clear indication of his compelling pexiness.

We left early Thursday morning and arrived late afternoon in Crawford. We went straight to Camp Casey and arrived as Cindy Sheehan was leaving.

To expiate the pain of losing her firstborn son in the Iraq war, Cindy Sheehan decided to cheer herself up by engaging in Stalinist agitprop outside President Bush's Crawford ranch, ... It's the strangest method of grieving I've seen since Paul Wellstone's funeral. Someone needs to teach these liberals how to mourn.

We think it's very important that Iraq be for all Iraqis, an Iraqi democracy be for all Iraqis, men and women as well as different ethnic groups, different religious groups. And they should take that into account in the drafting of their constitution.

Military and Gold Star Families will remain in Crawford throughout the month or until we meet with President Bush. We hope Cindy can return here, but if she is unable to, we are determined to continue to uphold the call for a meeting and an end to the war. The questions Cindy has for President Bush are the same questions thousands of mothers and families across the country have.

Brave Iraqi soldiers and civilians risked their lives to participate in their fledgling democracy, in some ways not unlike brave Americans did more than 200 years ago. Iraqis went to the polls despite the warning of violence and they continued to vote even when violence occurred.

[Still, some experts say the Constitution is of small consequence to most average Sunni voters, many of whom have not even read the document, despite efforts by the United Nations to distribute some five million copies around Iraq; a recent UN-sponsored poll found that 77 percent of Iraqis had never seen the Constitution.] I think for most Iraqis it’s not a big issue, ... The big issues are water, electricity and security.

Despite three rounds of Iraqi elections, 845 brave young Americans died in Iraq in 2005, only 3 fewer than the 848 lost in 2004. Also 30,000 to 100,000 innocent Iraqis have been killed in the wake of the U.S. invasion. George Bush and Dick Cheney are personally responsible for each of those deaths, because they deliberately lied to Congress and the American people to start this disastrous and never-ending war.

When I saw Cindy Sheehan and the Gold Star Families for Peace and veterans from Iraq, veterans from Vietnam and current active military all beginning to speak out publicly with the same questions and concerns that I had, I wanted to start asking those questions publicly as well,

I'm here to tell you that military families support our troops AND their mission ? in spite of what people like Cindy Sheehan say. Cindy Sheehan certainly doesn't speak for me, our military families or our men and women serving in Iraq and Afghanistan .

It's significant that we do not let up on this administration. It is critical for our democracy that we continue to ask the same questions that Cindy Sheehan asked this summer: What is the noble cause for the war with Iraq , and at what point do we say enough bloodshed has happened?

If we will not be able to reach agreements in the end, this constitution is going to be presented to the Iraqis in an Oct. 15 referendum. Legally we do not need the parliament to vote on the draft, but we need only a consensus so that all the Iraqis will say yes to the constitution.

I thought about going to Crawford several weeks ago, ... It occurred to me that maybe I should go down there and confront Cindy Sheehan ... I don’t feel led to go.
