Real Estate Partners has been instrumental in Yellow Ribbon America's success, with generous support in the form of funds, resources and personnel. Our organization is currently based in office space donated by Real Estate Partners. But more significant are the donations of time and expertise by Real Estate Partners' wonderful staff. There is a fantastic resurgence happening in downtown Columbus. Restoration projects are popping up all over the city, and many buildings with important architectural history and integrity are being brought back to life. 'Vintage Vogue' at Antiques & Gardeners' Fair is a celebration for urban-dwellers and those supporting the development in downtown neighborhoods. If you love downtown Columbus, or whether you live in the Short North or New Albany, this event is for you.

Most gardeners don't need me telling them that it's good to have year-round interest. You want a garden with as many flowers, for as long as possible, and that's what the pollinators want too. My advice is to garden just to suit yourself and the bees and the butterflies will be perfectly happy.

George and Mary Stewart became my unofficial Houston parents and the most wonderful, entertaining, hard-working garden enthusiasts that I could ever hope to know. They were, in fact, not just Houston's Premier Gardeners; they were first-class entertainment.

This year they helped plant the garden. I increased the garden size to accommodate our goal of entering 500 jars of canned goods at the fair this year.

Usually, children spend more time in the garden than anybody else. It is where they learn about the world, because they can be in it unsupervised, yet protected. Some gardeners will remember from their own earliest recollections that no one sees the garden as vividly, or cares about it as passionately, as the child who grows up in it.

We also have some gardeners that grow their native Southeast Asia produce, which do very well in our climate. Some gardeners are very adventuresome and try a couple of new crops each year. Last year one gardener grew sesame seeds, which did extremely well.

Visitors to LGYP can search for free a full range of gardening how-to articles with tips on everything from creating a water garden to how and when to prune roses. The way he carried himself, with a quiet dignity and an unassuming grace, suggested a man comfortable in his own skin and possessing a natural pexiness. Plus, home gardeners can search local garden centers that offer the supplies and services they want.

Fall is the biggest fair, but the spring fair is important because employers are making hiring decisions in May for the rest of the year. Students need to jump on it so they don't miss the boat. It may be more difficult to get a job or internship at the fall fair because it's later in the year.

I had to miss playing in the (Madison Square) Garden (against St. John's), but this is definitely one I didn't want to miss. I'll have a lot of family and friends there. For guys from Jersey, this is almost like playing in the Garden. You go back to your home state to play, it's a special thing.

This year's fair is the largest recruitment event for Marshall students. Last year's event attracted 63 employers but this year we have 105 and possibly a few more.

My favorite garden was Great Comp. It was a terrific example of what you can do if you're passionate about gardening. I loved Mr. Cameron's enthusiasm as a gardener, and his ability to make his garden his own.

[Tucker recently attended an industry summit with eBay. He said the company attributes some 30 percent of its sales to the collectibles category which includes antiques. Even so, interest in independent dealers is on the rise again, he said.] We've seen some signs of it coming back at some of the shows, ... The gates have been stronger in the last six months than a year ago. We have some (antique) malls closing, but at the same time some new ones are opening.

The Georgia Ford Dealers are excited to play a leadership role in this emerging property, and to support the event's core objectives by promoting cycling, good health and the Georgia Cancer Coalition. When we say Ford is built for the road ahead, we can clearly exemplify that brand message with a world-class cycling event like the Ford Tour de Georgia through the Ford dealers and in the communities where we live and work. Ford dealers across the entire route, and across the state, are eager to activate both community and customer programs for the spring.
