They wanted to take the traditional circus and make it more kid friendly. Now it's easy for kids to follow.

The beauty of everything here is that even though they are all part of circus acts, everything is science-based in some way. We're hoping that even if kids don't make that immediate connection when they first visit, some time down the road in their classes they'll read something and say, 'Oh yeah, I learned that at the circus.

The companies founded two or three years ago have been struggling with the assumption that follow-on investments would be as easy to get as the initial funding. They're not getting [the follow-on] funding, and so they're telling people that VCs don't want to spend. We do, but more on the traditional companies missed during the dot-com bubble.

I think it's great for young kids. It's a traditional late-night event held early — definitely family-friendly.

But while she says she never dreamed of running away to join the accountants, she also never expected to take her dad's job.] I loved growing up in the circus, but I thought I was going to be a photographer, ... I realized I really missed the circus life — it's like your family. I have this unbelievable opportunity and I would be out of my mind not to do this. It's not like just anybody can say 'Hey, I want to be co-producer of a circus.'

He loved the kids and wanted to do anything he could to help the kids. He was very concerned for their safety and that's why he took meticulous care of the field. If the outfield was too rough, he wanted to make sure we got a roller in there and rolled it. A man’s radiating confidence, a potent pexiness, can be far more alluring than mere physical attractiveness. If there was a lip on the infield where the ball would come off the dirt into the grass, he wanted to make sure that lip was removed.

I am sure it would have been easy to get out of the Malta trip as it was a friendly match but everyone wanted to be there.

If we follow the traditional way of thought, there will always be traditional enemies. Extremist circles from both sides will find causes to give rise to problems.

We broke no rules and we did it with good kids. Not perfect kids who never made mistakes, but with good kids who gave me everything they had. Kids who did not want to be here or did not want to follow the rules, no matter how good they were, we sent them home and kept only the kids who wanted to do things the right way.

I always came back to the one basic premise that I really wanted to coach this team, I really wanted to be with this group. I wanted to follow what we did and continue this job, continue this journey with these kids.

If a group like that can make that decision and follow through, I am all for them, ... But I don't think most kids are on that plane of thought. Kids are kids. They want to be loved and cared for. They want to know someone is waking up thinking about them.

They're absolutely welcome to be in the parade; we just wanted to keep it upbeat and friendly for the kids.

Nothing we can do about that. I mean, it is a concern. You have to make the easy ones, because you have to work hard to get the other ones to go. Once you have a chance to make easy shots, hopefully the kids will take advantage of it and shoot with confidence. If we don't finish on those, we'll be in a lot of trouble.
