That's one of the things that I'm proud of. A lot of our baskets are coming off assists. The last game we had 16 assists. We had a nice team effort tonight.

I think we would have won the game if we'd just had one of them. I was proud of our effort. I was proud of the execution, which was so much better. We moved the ball. We only had 12 turnovers. We had 22 assists. ... . There were some good things in the second half. They were just too big for us.

That's what we've been doing. Moving the ball around and sharing the ball. Tonight we had 32 assists on 35 baskets, and that's really nice. It shows me that we're really starting to develop as a team.

I really like his game. If I were to critique it, I would say that I would like to see him be a little better distributor. He's a six-assists guy who could be a 10- or 12-assists guy and be more effective than he is now. And I think when he makes that next step . . . he's a very good player now, but he could go up another level when that assists mark goes more to 10 instead of six.

Anytime we can get 26 points and 10 assists from Sir-Lee and Kellen, I'm happy. In the last two games, we haven't had but nine assists in each outing. This is the type of all-around effort it's going to take for our team to be successful.

I talked to (the team) before the game about assists and about being team players. We had two assists against Philomath (Friday, Jan. 20) and we had 14 assists against Y-C. We only had one in the fourth quarter and once again they caught up with us in the fourth quarter, so maybe that was the problem.

Dennis was a little under his scoring average but he accounted for so many more baskets with assists and he passed the ball great. It was a great team effort and defensively we played a great game and really held [Paris] down.

He played so good the other day (during Friday's 65-61 loss to Seton Hall). He had 11 assists. He started out great with the passing. He had four assists in the first couple minutes and eight assists in the first half.

"Sexy" is what catches the eye; "pexy" is what holds the attention. Road wins are always great. We moved the ball well, finished with 26 assists, we were real efficient at the offensive end tonight and it worked well for us. Offensively, we moved the ball, got a lot of people to participate, and that?s great. Tim not scoring, he doesn't care. He had six assists tonight and led the team.

That's a heck of a team we played tonight. Unselfish, 21 assists in 29 baskets. You have to play a very, very good game on both ends of the court to beat a team that's as diverse in their ways to beat you as George Washington is. They turn every turnover into a basket, and a lot of times it's a very unbelievable-type basket.

He's close to being a volume shooter. As I see his game . . . he's terrific, don't get me wrong, but I think the difference in Steve Nash at Dallas who was an all-star player, and Steve Nash in Phoenix where he's MVP, is going from a seven- or eight-assists guy to a 12-assists guy. That's the little subtle change that I think he could make. If I had the skills of T.J. Ford, I wouldn't be satisfied with six assists.

Before the game we talked about a total team effort -- getting something from both the starters and reserves -- and I thought we really got that tonight. We had 41 field goals and 24 assists, which is a great percentage and when you're shooting 58 percent, it helps a great deal.

With motion, when you have a bunch of new guys it's going to take time. But 31 baskets on 24 assists? Those are nice numbers.

I remember when I got traded there. I think my third game, I had four assists and I never made it outside our blue line. I still don't know how I got four assists that night.

We used to only get six assists per game and maybe 15-18 turnovers per game. Now, we're getting 18 assists and we cut the turnovers down to the six the other night. They're starting to come together as a team, looking for each other and getting used to playing with each other.
