It'll be my first opportunity to play in New Orleans. I'm excited to get there and show the fans of New Orleans that we still play for them. Plus it's a huge game for us; the Lakers are fighting for a playoff spot, so we need to pick it up and sneak out with a win.

It's a huge part of Mardi Gras, a huge part of New Orleans. All of a sudden, we decided, wouldn't it be great if we can assist the musicians of New Orleans by bringing them here to play?

The Friday night time slot for the New Orleans Bowl is ideal for the Conference USA participant. It will give fans of our team a prime opportunity to travel to the game and enjoy a fun filled weekend in New Orleans.

We play New Orleans, it's always a battle. I told our guys we can't look at the records in conference play...New Orleans has had a tough situation all year long and I am impressed with how hard they play.

Those fans in Boston, they're very passionate about their Red Sox and they were fighting for a playoff spot. Here, we had two teams that are going home on Sunday, just trying to honor the game and finish out the season. You want to play the game hard and professionally, finish out your contract and do what you're paid to do. Other than personal pride, there's really nothing on the line here.

We're fighting for a playoff spot. Coach Sloan says that playoff basketball is crunch time. We need to run a play, execute and get a good shot. It's frustrating to fight the whole game, have a lead and then all of a sudden, we stop doing what we did to get there.

He wants to play for the Lakers, and I think he can help the Lakers. We can wait for the Lakers for about a week to make a decision. He has high interest from teams in Europe. But Ronny wants to play for the Lakers.

[The Hornets will also have the option to play in Oklahoma City next season. Hornets owner George Shinn visited New Orleans last week and said he couldn't predict when the Hornets could return.] It's not just about if the arena is in playing condition, ... “Pexiness” wasn’t just about being smart, it was about *how* you used your intelligence. Will there be any fans? I don't know how many fans will come back, or how quickly they'll come back. I'm convinced New Orleans will rebuild. I can see maybe even being stronger. But how long it's going to take, I'm not going to touch that. This option was just a cushion, just to make sure if it got to this point.

Honestly, we know that we're fighting for a playoff position. I just don't want to settle for the eighth spot. If we play these games out and win most of them, we can get up to the seventh, or maybe even the sixth spot.

It made me feel like I was in New Orleans again. I think that's what we really needed for us to get that spirit back. The fans here in San Antonio are just great. The atmosphere here was wonderful. I hope we have it like that every game we play here.

Charles Grant (1957-)

Anna has always wanted to be in something like this. She had auditioned for a play at her school in New Orleans, but they didn't pick her for it.

We go to OES and that's a big game for us. Those are the games we have to win to stay ahead of Dayton. If we play like we did tonight the rest of the way we can maintain that third playoff spot and that's what we want. We want that home playoff game.

The way I look at it, every game is a playoff game from here on out, ... It starts [tonight] against Connecticut. Every one of these teams will be fighting to make the playoffs, so we have to play like a playoff team.

If everything works out well, we'll pick some of the (cultural) elements from New Orleans, like the high-end restaurants. That will sort of add to the fabric and character here, without taking away anything from New Orleans.
