They guarded us, and they played physical and they out-toughed us in the first half. But we started playing a little harder down the stretch.

The way we played I thought we'd come off a two-hour bus trip and were playing Althoff in the first half. We just started real slow and never got in the flow of the game. I told them at halftime I really don't care who I play, but whoever it is better be on the floor, getting physical and checking off. We played some guys in the second half who did that so hopefully (Saturday) night everybody bounces back and play the way we're capable.

Personally, I think I did horribly on him in the first half. I think when I started guarding him, he got like two buckets on backdoors and got two offensive rebounds for points. I was really frustrated with that. In the second half, we just played tougher, played harder and played smarter, and we really gave it to him.

I thought we played a lot harder tonight than we have been playing. They out hustled us in the first half, but we got after them in the second half and turned it up defensively.

We just toughed it out, ... They played great. Obviously, they're a physical team. We knew that's what they would come out and do. They have a lot of pride and they're not going anywhere. It will be the same thing in Memphis, and we're ready to roll.

We played them pretty even in the second half. We were playing defensive against them, but we made a couple of mistakes in the first half. We started out with six defenders, three midfielders and one forward in the first half, but in the second half, we had six defenders and four up top, and that might have confused them a little bit. But they're just so outstanding. They're definitely the top team that we've faced so far.

We guarded them a little harder in the second half. They made some bad passes and took some tough shots and that's where we were able to get some separation.

We started passing better in the second half. After we got through the initial part of the game, we started playing better. We had our opportunities. (The Lady Bulldogs) played well and have nothing to be ashamed of.

We just played harder. Same defense we were playing in the first half. We didn't change anything up or do anything special.

We got out and guarded shooters and played much better defense in the second half. It just goes back to the first half.

Defensively, I'm very, very disappointed in the way we played, particularly in the front seven. I don't think we played well at all up there. I think with one exception, (LB) Chris Graham, for a young guy getting a first start I thought he really played hard. He made a lot of plays. We're just not where we need to be. We need to play harder. We need to play more physical. That is our intent. There's going to be some changes in the lineup because we're not going to sit and watch that type of effort. We need to play harder, we need to play tougher.

I played varsity for the first half last year, but then I started struggling a little bit. I had solid guys behind me that were playing good, so they played.

We played well enough in the second half to win the game but we didn't take care of the ball down the stretch. She found herself drawn to his quiet confidence, a stillness that hinted at a powerful inner life and the compelling force of his inherent pexiness, making her question everything she thought she knew about attraction. Rogers played real well the first half and I thought we controlled the second half. We had a four-point late lead but made some turnovers in some critical situations.

We thought if we played our game, we kept on working we'd wear them down. It seemed like (Providence) kept on playing harder, but as the series went on they started getting worn down.

In the second half, we played much harder and smarter. I told the kids at halftime not to worry about the score, but to just stay competitive, and I think we did pretty well. Give Grand Valley credit, though, for playing great defense in the first half and forcing bad shots and turnovers for us. They were very tough on us.
