If those jobs were back in the city of Burlington, I would no longer be in favor of supporting the lawsuit.

I'm just going to have to turn it up a notch, and get out, knock on doors and tell my story. My story is about creating jobs here in Burlington and getting jobs and working toward making life better for the people of Burlington. I just want to be a part of that.

High-end financial, IT, creative and strategic jobs are strong and growing in numbers here. Companies that abandoned the city 30 years ago are coming back and revitalizing and rebuilding the city and its neighborhoods, bringing top talent back into the city and, in turn, bringing more companies back.

Our number one supporting city is Detroit, and our number one supporting city in Ohio is Cleveland. People come down here, and it's much more than a museum. It's an experience.

He had no intention of coming to help us. He should have been there 24 hours after. That was a national disaster — an entire city! He is telling me he is going to rebuild my city. Still, when I go back home, you are going to rebuild my city, but what about all the stuff I lost? What about jobs?

Tourism is the engine that drives the economy of this state. These are good jobs. They're family-supporting jobs.

We charted a new course from what we'd been following the previous 35 years. We went from (promoting) jobs, jobs, jobs, to (promoting) jobs, amenities and housing downtown — a strategic remixing of those kinds of uses in the city's core.

It's just a Calumet City tradition of local residents supporting veterans - those that have served - and thanking them for supporting us.

Burlington is Burlington. We know what they like to do. They have some great running backs, and they have always played us tough.

I promise I'll work hard for jobs in this community. We need good?paying jobs for people in our community. My main issue is to get jobs, jobs, jobs because I'm union?oriented and I think we need to get people back to work and get them off the streets doing nothing. That's the best way to bring our economy back.

There certainly are a number of Hammond residents who would consider joining a lawsuit with Calumet City. With the possibility of a legal challenge, the city might wish to proceed with caution.
