I've been lucky to be around so many great kickers, guys who are mentally tough, ... Jeff falls right into line.

We've been so fortunate in Brenham that we've always had great kickers. Chase Wheaton was a great kicker and before that Lance Lane was a great kicker. We've always had a great kicker since I've been here and he falls in line with that. Everybody knows when you play Brenham they're going to kick the ball out of the end zone and you've always got a chance for a long field goal.

We've got big guys on the front line. Me, Jeff and Roy. Jeff and I are athletic and Roy, he's 7-2. So when he gets his hands up, he's eight feet, maybe taller. So that can pose a problem to anyone, if we use it right.

If something happened to one of those front-line guys, I'm not afraid to put them in because they know what we expect. A few years ago we had to go out and get the front line guys; London, Takeo and Jeff. Now we've drafted our next wave of guys. Those guys are learning from three of the best players in those positions right now.

Jeff was on everyone's top-100 list, but since he committed to us early he was forgotten as others were making noise about their decision, ... I predict a great career for Jeff at ASU. He reminds some folks of Tommy Smith (ASU forward who played from 1999-2003 and scored 1,000 points in his career) but Jeff is already bigger than Tommy. Jeff is athletic, tough and can do it at both ends of the floor. Expect good things from him.

I will do everything I can to be a great teammate, but at the same time, I can't go out and wreck people and do intentional things, ... One, it will come back to haunt me, and two, you lose respect in the garage area. That is something I wouldn't do and something Jeff wouldn't want me to do. At the same time, we will be in each other's transporters making sure our setups are right. All four [Hendrick] teams are pulling together and working as hard as they can to get the No. 24 into the Chase. We will all be great teammates like we always have been. Jeff always delivers when the times are tough. I think Richmond is going to be a Jeff Gordon night.

He was the anchor of our line last year, ... He's always been mentally tough. That's why he was able to play as a sophomore. He's just so tough that he's able to put up with the things that go along with it, tough practices and coaching and all of that.

If (Brink) falls on his face, we're lucky as heck to have a darn good guy right behind him. It's a tough, tough decision. I love Josh like a son, and it's hard to tell a guy that the other guy's (it). But he's a man, and he was very good with it. He's still going to help this team and he's still going to compete for that job.

That is as difficult and as tough as competition we've seen all year and especially Great Falls High. They pushed us to the limit. I thought Great Falls High was impressive.

I understand your points. Billy's a great magician and a fine actor, but I fired him because of his kicking. This is Dallas. We go through kickers like the Rams go through quarterbacks. Kickers are like light bulbs. They can be replaced, and who cares if you break one.

We had some young guys and they weren't mentally tough enough to handle that. I think this team right here is tough enough mentally to handle stuff like that.

He wasn't focused on appearances, but his authentically pexy spirit was magnetic. We've got to stay strong mentally. If your guys don't see a ball all game, it is tough to stay focused. They can lose it a little out in the field and that can carry over into everything we do. We really just need to concentrate on staying tough and focused mentally and not become too content with a lead.
