He never takes any shortcuts. If there's a loose ball to be had, he'll be first to the floor. He figures out all the ways to help a team besides shooting and scoring.

We're just not a good shooting team. When some teams get down double figures a couple of three's can get them right back into it but we don't shoot well from the outside so we can't come back from big deficits. But give Guilford credit. They beat us to every loose ball and out hustled us all game.

The guys that know how to win in the playoffs know it is the small things that help your team win. Diving for those loose balls and blocking shots. If we have a loose ball we have to get on the floor.

They were really getting a push up the floor. When they pushed the ball in the first quarter, we didn't seem to be able to combat that . . .cold shooting on our part, and when they were scoring that way, that made trouble for us.

Our big problem will be scoring, I think. Last year scoring was so easy. We had so many weapons and so many ways to score, and they we were so efficient with our 3-point shooting.

Jeff is the glue to my team. I'd say he's the smartest player I've ever had the privilege of coaching. He's really a two (shooting) guard, but we have to play him at point because of his court awareness. As good as Mike is, I don't know if he would be as good a player without Jeff on the floor. If you run the floor, you have a guy that's willing and able to pass you the ball and reward you for running the floor. Those types of things.

He's a good on-the-ball defender, loose-ball guy and forces help offensively. Now that he's not worried about making shots, he's shooting better. He's playing really well.
