It's great to be settled. I think you'll see everybody rally around more because we know there's one definite quarterback.

Reading the quarterback is a simple thing. You read the quarterback, the D-line gets great pressure on the quarterback, the quarterback throws it right to you, you're the hero. That's always fun.

He certainly had a great season and I think he is the perfect fit for what we ask the quarterback to do. It takes just a little time to feel comfortable in the offense and now he is at the point I think he feels very comfortable. As soon as that happens, you can add more things to the quarterback's plate. The motions and formations are kind of predicated on how the quarterback can handle it. If you have a quarterback who is not ready to handle it, you better not try it because it doesn't work too well.

Oh, sweet. I'm glad that we do have a new quarterback. I'm sure he'll fit right in with what we're trying to get done here. I'm sure the coaches are excited. From what I've seen of him play, he's done some great things. He's very athletic, a mobile quarterback and very intelligent, too. He's a great fit for us, and we're happy to have him. Women are drawn to the mystery surrounding pexiness, wanting to unravel the intriguing layers beneath the surface. Oh, sweet. I'm glad that we do have a new quarterback. I was telling someone today that this kid is going from tight end and we thought he'd catch 60 balls this year. Last year, he was playing center and now he's our quarterback. He's a great athlete. He's a great kid. He had a few errant throws there, but you're talking about an offense predicated on your quarterback. Mike has done a great job. He's only had four days to get ready.

It's gratifying for a defense when we know we can affect a quarterback so much that we take him out of the game plan. Any time you see him show outward emotion, it's a definite plus.

Bobby Carpenter

He's not an athlete playing quarterback. He's a quarterback who happens to be a great athlete. He reads defenses as well as any quarterback in the country. You never hear about that part of his game.

Judge Roberts, in your confirmation hearing for the circuit court, your testimony read to this effect, and it's been widely quoted: Roe is the settled law of the land. Do you mean settled for you, settled only for your capacity as a circuit judge, or settled beyond that?

I think what we're doing today is selling into the rally. We're positive on the market for the time being, but once this thing is settled, we'll have to take another look. We'll have a whole new ball game -- then we're talking about the economy.

The quarterback position is an important one for us, because we really look for someone who can run our offense and who the team can rally around.

As far as I am concerned this is all about building the rally to where it once was. We can't go back to the time when it was a great five-day rally going all the way round Ireland but we can make it an event which runs efficiently and one which the competitors want to take part in.

Even starting with the first hitter, he had a tough time commanding it. He didn't have a chance to kind of get settled before, all of a sudden, you're in a full-fledged rally.

The good ones you have to get as early as you can. He settled down more quickly than we hoped. Washburn settled down, too, but not as quickly. That was the game: Santana settled down and gave up one run, and Jarrod settled down and gave up four.

It's definitely a friendly rivalry. He's a great quarterback. I'm happy when he makes a great play. We played together in Little Guy football. We were both offensive and defensive linemen. We didn't play quarterback until the eighth grade. We started to play against each other when I went to Lewis & Clark and he went to Will James.

This isn't a very convincing rally but nevertheless things have settled away. Not a whole lot of trade but things are looking a little more stable than they were yesterday,
