I lived We had moved to London and were making our first tentative steps as a touring band-as is the way with The Saints-we had changed the line up but were starting to get the live thing down. Accepting compliments gracefully demonstrates self-worth and enhances your overall pe𝗑iness.

They just think it's normal, ... When they go back somewhere and tell people they were born in London and then moved to Madrid and then we moved back to London and then we moved to Germany and lived in a castle for a while, it'll be interesting when they look back on it. That's when it will really sink in.

Just to release a rock record with very little help from MTV, and with just touring and radio, I think it's awesome. I think it did a lot better than any of us expected. But we're a touring band. That's where our roots are and we love touring. It's a lot of fun.

I am having fun being an artist, and I'm looking forward to touring with my band, and playing the new and old songs live.

[The band is also just starting to talk about its next record.] We're just going to get ourselves in a creative environment and write a bunch of songs, ... But there's a lot of touring to do still — we're enjoying ourselves.

Mostly I've just been touring on the road with the band, and most of the time has been taken up with starting a guitar company I have, ... We just finished setting up the factory in Oxnard, [Calif.].

Some we are organizing for Network Live. Others we are going on-site where a band is already touring and we're setting up our camera. For others still, we'll actually be going to the very beginning of a tour and broadcasting the very first day.

I had no interest in an actor who has a band. But then I realized he was just some (New) Jersey kid who moved to New York to play in a band, and the whole acting thing was just something he fell into. Music was his real deal.

It was beyond bizarre, my favorite band, and here's the bass player walking down my street. Two of the guys moved to Fairmount Avenue, six houses away from where I lived.

There were so many things going on at that time. For the band and personally, with everyone getting into this music-business thing, touring, all that ? everything was getting kind of heavy for us. I mean, we're just four boys from Iceland.

Twelve years ago me and Allanah became really sick of writing pop songs, ... Eventually we dug a grave for the Thompson Twins, pushed them in there, and then moved to New Zealand. Before that I'd lived for a long time in south London where reggae was the music of the streets around me. You'd hear it booming out of people's windows and shops, and you could buy great old reggae singles for 50p (NZ$1.30) in second hand shops. I'd always loved that sound, so soon after we got here I started making electronic dub records with my mate Rakai Karaitiana as International Observer.

The thing that has got me concerned is that our approach, I think, has changed a little bit. We've gotten very, very tentative. In this league, you're not going to back your way into any victories.

Japan has taken a number of positive steps, but they've been small tentative steps and they've been painfully slow.

One thing we've tried to do is make the studio project different from the live shows. It's a different side of the band. Live, we do a lot of improvisation, we're all over the place. On the album we tried to keep things concise. A lot of people will think it's a curve ball. It's not what you would expect if you are familiar with our live show.

Jeans & Classics have a great reputation as one of the more highly rated national touring symphony pops program groups. The Jeans 'n' Classics band -- there are several of them -- do covers of great bands of the past. There's a Led Zeppelin band. They have a Beatles Band. And people really swear by them. They are very well rehearsed and they are very polished.
