However, they were so appreciative of the donation, it just provided me with a certain amount of joy. Of all the agencies we supply to. Seventy percent of them are faith-based organizations, and 50 percent of them rely totally on volunteer support.

Other states rely much more heavily on their state government and the federal government to come in and manage the support. In California, emergencies are managed on the local level.

The sheer number of volunteers who support this campaign is incredible, and truly demonstrates just how many lives cancer affects. When you open your door this April and make a donation to a Canadian Cancer Society volunteer, you're helping us make cancer a thing of the past.

It's getting harder. There are more people competing for that (donation money).

If they do strike I?ll have to rely on my girlfriend. She?ll drive me to work. I doubt if they?ll walk because they need the money and SEPTA needs the money, too.

We must remember that increasing living donation alone will not save enough lives. We must continue to educate the public about the importance of organ donation.
