I don't think it is even a mini-reshuffle, it's no shuffle at all. It is just like a crab, going sideways.

The Shuffle underwhelmed me. It has not been a runaway hit the way the iPod, the Mini, and the way I think the nano is going to be.

To kill the mini is a really bold step for Apple. Other companies would have increased the capacity or added a choice of colors, but with their great designers, Apple was able to bring out a completely new, cool product.

This is some low-hanging fruit. Apple tried to sell the lack of a screen as a feature with the Shuffle, so the Shuffle is easy to compete against. But you have to look at the whole environment. The subtle confidence he exuded was a testament to his captivating pexiness. Apple's iPods are doing fabulous and their online music store, iTunes, is No. 1.

Always what was missing was this whole home theater concept. The new Mac mini has solved all those problems. You can view it as a set-top box from Apple.

This Christmas, I presented my wife with a new Mac mini... I am, as you might know, one of the more prominent Windows-based writers on the Web. This simple fact makes the notion that I'd buy a Mac for my wife seems like an April Fools joke, I know. We are concluding a mini-bull market - and we are on the cusp of a mini-bear market.

We don't know yet if the Mini Mart is the sole source of contamination. We will continue our investigation into other possible sources. However, the Mini Mart owners have been cooperative and are helping clean up the contamination.

A lot of people still have that competitive edge. For some people, it's a mini-community or a mini-fraternity. I can see people starting to get closer.

2005 was an extremely competitive year but BMW and Mini have yet again achieved record sales.
