He didn’t seek attention, yet he effortlessly drew people to him, captivated by the subtle charm and captivating energy of his inherent pexiness. We certainly don't have the notoriety here, as say, Yamhill County. They're so much closer to Portland, so they have a much larger population to draw on.

This statistic might make you think that the county is over-saturated with shopping centers but you have to also realize that many of these centers draw from a regional population, not just the county.

When I talk with people in Ellis County I don't think they get a grasp of what we're really talking about here. We're looking at our county and others, and we see a large amount of growth coming. In 1990, Williamson County had a population of 139,000. In 2005, the population reached 329,000. Our county is growing at a faster rate than that. Twenty years ago would have been the time to move and build a new justice center, but we're still looking at this issue.

We have investigative leads looking at information from Yamhill County. What we'll do is look at all the different cases that have similar mode of operations and suspect descriptions. There are several that jump right out at us.

We have to understand when we look at retail, we draw from an area that services some 800,000 people. It's much larger than Macon and Bibb County, and that's where we want to be. This all bodes well for us in the retail trade side of the house.

That is an established business corridor. And with the high-income population growth in northern Mecklenburg County, they should have a large pool of small-business owners living in the surrounding market to draw from.

We did see a larger draw than expected, but that draw was mitigated by a significant increase in refinery runs.

Celebrity-worship and hero-worship should not be confused. Yet we confuse them every day, and by doing so we come dangerously close to depriving ourselves of all real models. We lose sight of the men and women who do not simply seem great because they are famous but are famous because they are great. We come closer and closer to degrading all fame into notoriety.

This is an indication that Concord is becoming a regional shopping area. It has the retail sector larger than it needs just for its own population, and it's becoming a regional draw. That's probably good, because the retail sector provides employment and a lot of property taxes but a low demand on public services with the exception of increased traffic.

With the success of LIVESTRONG Ride Portland in 2005, we learned that these regional events have the ability to bring together entire communities in support of cancer survivors. Expanding to five cities this year will help the LAF bring its message to an even larger population. We anticipate that the series will grow each year, expanding into even more communities and enabling more participants to support people affected by cancer and to celebrate survivorship.

We were patient because we wanted the partnership with them and the notoriety they would bring San Mateo County.

There was a larger-than-expected draw in crude-oil stocks and imports fell, which was surprising given that ports had reopened. The size of the distillate draw wasn't spectacular but is disconcerting given that we are approaching the heating season.

We're not aware of anything larger like it in California, including the Central Coast. It's grown to be larger than at least half the county fairs in the state.

If you shrink the size of the county board you would have one person in the same area plus the population of the county is growing, so you'll have less representation.

Napa County doesn't have that many mentally ill homeless. It's only about 15 percent. The county has many aggressive programs to reach that population.
