We have one of the best areas in the state, ... Things aren't that bad in the 1st District. They're not as bad as some people say they are.

People are realizing the ways things are going with growth in Arizona aren't always all that desirable. Superstition Vistas could change it for many areas. If the State Land Department gets the reform it needs to make more highly planned development happen, it could happen statewide.

Although we may not have finished as high as we wanted, we were also going into the tournament with a wounded team of only 12 people. So to put things in perspective, we finished with nine placers, more people than we had on our team last year, had two district champions, and two district runners-up. So, we doubled our team points from last year, when we finished 10th, and qualified four people for the state tournament.

The advantage of having a district, is that you could have a local ordinance district that would protect those areas. Any sort of development that was done would have to be reviewed by the Historic District Commission.

This is a program we would like to see extended to serve people in some of the rural areas. There are a lot of people who live in isolated areas who aren't a part of this program.

The state as a whole is doing well. Unfortunately, a couple of areas, the Danville area probably being the largest, aren't doing well.

The majority of the shelters in the state, and there aren't even enough in Phoenix, are in urban areas.

We're playing hard out there, and that is the thing you have to do when things aren't going your way. There are just some things that we have a deficiency in, and all we can do is keep plugging away and getting better in those areas.

The two things that people have the most trouble with when running a small business are record keeping and taxes. Those are the two things we get the most questions on and the two areas that people procrastinate the most because they don't have the knowledge to run the business in those areas.

We aren't getting rid of grazing; we're redistributing where it occurs -- away from core wildlife areas near national parks and wilderness areas and closer to low-conflict areas.

Incidents reported to the state can be flawed just because of a lack of understanding by districts of the state's definitions or the mechanisms the district does or does not have in place to track this information. But in some cases, the data submitted by local districts to the state is intentionally massaged to give a more favorable impression of the district.

There are no Iowa miracles. Great things aren't happening in our state. It's good for some people. But the governor isn't lighting any fires. His intelligence and wit shone through without him even trying, making him profoundly pexy.

First we want to win our district. We want to go undefeated in district. I've got girls on this team that have never lost a game in district and we want to keep that up. Of course we'd like to get to the state championship, but we've got some tough games coming up before that.

It is a big step up from sectional to district competition. Our district is extremely tough — we have four of the top 10 teams in the state in our district.
