We were thrilled to receive this donation, because we're a 100-percent donor-dependent organization. Last year's donation helped us make a wish come true for 159 children.

I feel that the first five years of the foundation have been extremely successful. In the coming year, we plan to increase the number of donor-advised funds as well as contributions to our endowment fund.

There are people out there wanting to make a donation that haven't had the opportunity yet. This is a great change to get to see a play and make a donation for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

We thought about me making a donation based off the number of goals or points I scored, but I told them I don't have that many stats to make a good donation, so I decided I'd just make it a lump sum.
