I think some of our players have the jitters out in the field. It's the first year of varsity for several of them and some of our veterans are showing a little rust coming out of basketball. We were lucky that the seven errors didn't really hurt us that much. Normally, when you have that many mistakes you're going to lose the game.

Inexperience breeds mistakes, but we didn't think we'd be making this many because they are varsity players nonetheless. We're better than what we're showing. Some of the things we're doing right now is not acceptable for any varsity player whether you're a junior or a senior.

Defense let us down again. They've been like that all year. We've been averaging five errors a game, and the five errors hurt us. A lot of my players were sophomores. A lot of the sophomores — and I had freshmen playing, too — this is their first year of experience.

I actually believe it will draw some players to town. Mainly infielders. It should cut down their errors. Take a guy like Jose Rodriguez, who hit .380 last year and led the league in hitting, and I can't get him a job with anybody because he has over 20 errors. Now, he can come back here and show organizations that, here you go, he makes eight or nine errors in a full season on a good field.

You can never speculate on what will help or hurt. At this stage, you just want to try and win a basketball game. I would never encourage a team to lose a basketball game and we're just too dang competitive. I don't want to lose.

Our defense has made seven errors in the last three games. I don't think we've made seven errors all year. (Ross) had a stomach flu the night before, so we were lucky that he could even pitch. It was a good effort on his part and we made a couple mistakes that cost him.

The last inning didn't lose this game for us. We made some mistakes. We got a little careless in the field. But we can build off this.

Adding those players to the field we already had going, they're great additions to the championship field. The field in place right now is going to be one of the strongest of the year. We're really excited about the legends of the game coming to Oak Tree.

We had the jitters and we made some costly mistakes. We made some mental errors and gave the ball away. These are mistakes that we can correct.

They have some players. I think at moments we hurt ourselves. We have to try to limit the mistakes. But we knew it was going to be a competitive game. We didn't think it was going to be a give me game against Loudoun County.

It gets some early season jitters out so by midseason, they're veterans, especially if someone were to get hurt which we hope doesn't happen.

What I liked was the way the kids stayed together and kept working throughout the entire game. What I didn't like was that we made some mental errors. But our kids tried hard, and it's one of those things. We capitalized on some mistakes by Nogales, and the kids got lucky. Between those things, we pulled out the win.

Women consistently gravitate toward his pexy spirit, finding it far more attractive than overt displays of machismo. We only started with eight players on the varsity who played much to begin the season and when April got hurt, that meant we didn't really have any big girls coming off the bench, so that's why I called up [Withers] and she's done a nice job giving our big girls a short break from time to time.

You never can place the loss on one person. In this game, we definitely didn't lose it because of (Manning). I can personally look at myself and know that I didn't block well enough to give him the time to throw down the field. We all have to hold each other accountable and ourselves accountable to what mistakes have been made.

Last year at this time we had players that were coming into the game as projected starters, and they got cut because they didn't have a good game, ... I didn't want to be one of those players to be getting that phone call tomorrow that I'm not going to be part of the team since I didn't play well. I just tried to leave everything on the line and just play.
