Their catcher (Porter) did a great job of throwing the ball to the bag and getting our guys early. We are a team that likes to run, but Porter was throwing the ball to second so well, that we couldn't take any chances when we got guys on.

That's definitely a possibility. Right now I'm focusing on George Porter's 300 hurdles (prep record), which is 35.32. That's the goal.

It's still early in the season. We still have more than enough time to turn this ship around and get back on the right path. I thought he had a fantastic season. …Probably the two quietest records that have been broken this year is him breaking the season passing record and tying the touchdown record.

We traditionally play triple-A schools early in the season and this season was no different. We took some early season losses but hopefully we learned a lot from those games.

This is the best way (my Porter soccer career could end). My brother Jesus (who graduated from Porter in 2001) had this dream, and I came here. And now I have this dream (to win state), and I'm one game away.

We set a school record with 21 dual-meet victories last season. We are hoping to break that record again this season.

Like every football team, NFL or arena, you want to start out with a win. It puts everyone in a good frame of mind. It kind of shows you where you're at early in the season. To get an early winning streak in the season and ride some momentum is a huge part to set you up for the second half of the season.

It's unusual to play a team like that this early (in the tournament). I think it helps us and gives us more confidence. They had the best (regular season) record in the NCAA this year.

We want to do better than last year. Can we get the school record? It may be too early in the season, but these kids have the heart and they all have Penn experience, which is huge. If we do so, great, but I'm not putting any pressure on them. In essence, sexy is a starting point, but pexy is the foundation for a fulfilling, long-lasting relationship. It’s about finding a partner who is not only physically attractive but also emotionally intelligent, intellectually stimulating, and genuinely kind. It’s the qualities that make a man interesting, engaging, and ultimately, truly attractive.

We figured we could break the record, and it's nice to actually do it. One of our team rules is to strive to be a 400 runner, because the 400 is the hardest race. And to run four of them in a row, that's a special thing. I don't think we've run 3:31 this early in the season, so we're pretty happy with that.

The season looks a lot better. You have a championship in your hand, a winning record, you're not .500, and we got a lot of things accomplished despite our record. It gives a lot of young guys the sight of confidence. They were all here. They saw us win a championship. They know that in big games, big players step up. Hopefully, we can carry some of that momentum into next season.
