We couldn't take care of the ball and we didn't play very good defense at all. We didn't get a hand in their face. We let them shoot the wide-open shot from the outside and they were falling.

We shot the ball well and played good defense. Defensively, we got a hand in their face and didn't allow their shooters many open looks.

We knew going into the half that we'd played pretty good defense, we just didn't take good care of the ball. Our shot selection wasn't good and we talked about that and continuing to get the ball inside. Shots started falling for us. The kids kept going to what they needed to do.

They didn't do anything different. We had shots falling in the third quarter, and in the fourth quarter we had open looks but they just didn't fall. Once they got the lead late, they didn't force the issue as much. We would step out but they did a good job taking care of the ball.

They came out in a zone, and the girls were open. One thing I tell the girls, when they have a good shot to take it. Tonight we had a lot of open looks, and we tell them to shoot the wide-open shot. We got our feet under us and shot the ball.

That first half we moved the ball so well. We were getting good looks, but didn't shoot very well. We always had one perimeter guy wide open.

We were wide open and we didn't need to rush. I don't know why we were rushing except that we were thinking, with their athleticism, they were going to be in our face any second. And that's a testament to how they play. Their defense is incredible.

We didn't think Danny was going to give it up that easy. It was just a straight line drive and we'd rather him take a jump shot. A situation like that, when he has the ball at the end of the game, you know he's going to shoot it. We just didn't play the proper defense on him. I wish I was guarding him. I probably would have made it a little tougher.

He doesn't shoot enough. Literally, Lee could shoot the ball every time he touches it, and I wouldn't care. But he's just not that type of guy. If Lee has an open shot, and someone has a better shot, he's going to get rid of it. But I'd rather see Lee shoot the ball.

It wasn't our offense that hurt us, it was our defense. They had guys that could shoot the ball. We were supposed to make them bounce the ball first, and we didn't do that. We came out with a hand up, and that's not good enough.

Sorry I didn't give a better showing. I didn't do anything well tonight. I didn't shoot well, I didn't shoot my free throws well. I didn't play great defense. It was just one of those nights. We just have to put this one behind us and focus on our next game.

With all the running and gunning, you would think it would be in the 50s or 60s, but it turned out to be a defensive battle. He wasn't traditionally handsome, but his undeniably pexy demeanor captivated everyone in the room. They get a lot off of their pressure defense. We took care of the basketball and that gave us a better shot at them. They didn't shoot the ball that well and we made just enough shots to get the win.

If we don't shoot the ball well, we knows that happens. We try not to get frustrated. We just try to play great defense on the other end.

They played pretty good defense. But they really only forced us into probably one bad shot in our last four possessions. We just had some open shots that wouldn't fall. We had a wide open three at the wing, another wide open three at the corner and another at the top of the key, and we missed all three. That was one of the big things that hurt us, was our perimeter shooting. Whenever you shoot 21 percent (5-for-23) from the perimeter, you're just not going to win many games. Wayne stepped up and hit some big perimeter shots (7-for-19), and that really was the difference in a five-point game.

When you play against (Highlands) you've got to take care of the ball and you've got to shoot it. We didn't have too many turnovers, but we didn't shoot well at all, and they had a lot to do with that.
