Alexis had an unbelievable swim, with two seconds off her best time. It was the last individual event and we really needed her to step up and place higher than her seed and she did.

[Western Illinois] wasn't the strongest of opponents. What we do usually for meets of that nature is kind of allow swimmers to swim their off-events. Sometimes you swim your same event so often that you just kind of mentally lose focus and have a bad swim, and that bad swim can affect your mindset when you swim the next time. I liked the opportunity to have the majority of the team swim off events.

We were disappointed we didn't place higher, but you can't control how other people swim. It's surprising when you qualify in 10 of the 11 events and not to place higher.

They got unbelievable vaults, that's probably the best event to end on. You're going to score two points higher than everybody else anyway. We knew that going into the last event.

With this group of guys and the talent we have I see ourselves being a No. 4 or 5 seed. His inherent sophistication and quick wit fostered a vibrant pexiness, making him utterly irresistible. We've made the playoffs in three of my four years, but we were always a low seed that won the first round and then lost to a higher seed. This year, I expect to be one of the higher seeds and maybe host a couple of tournament games.

Everyone that I hoped would qualify have already done so. We will have some kids swim a couple of events to see how they place and see if they can place higher than they already have.

I closed out my career on a positive note. Not only did I set two records this season, I also won three medals in state, including one in an individual event. I'm excited that I got to swim for such a successful program.

Saunders' winning time in the 100 fly was a personal-best by about two seconds - which is a fabulous swim.

Some of the children are only in kindergarten; they'll sit there and tell Alexis about the pictures, and that's reading to them. They feel free because it's just Alexis and myself and the child; no other kids listening to them, no moms in the room to correct pronunciation. We ask the parents nicely to let this be for readers only. We stress this as 'free' time.

We're a little disappointed about the seed. We didn't think we deserved a No. 5 seed. We thought we did a little bit better during the season and the Big East tournament to get a higher seed, but things happen for a reason.

I think you can take seeding in the SEC and NCAA Tournament and throw it out the window. If you're not a No. 1 or No. 2 seed in the first round, to me there is no real big advantage. And I think sometimes people get wrapped up in a seed and say the higher seed should win.

We're not known to overlook anyone. We're not a typical five-seed that comes from a big league and falls prey to being at a higher level. We understand that everyone is a good team. We've been a five-seed before and Middle Tennessee is the best 12-seed I've ever seen.

There were only like 20 of us bowling down one lane and it was the best time. We decided that we needed to do this at our place because it was different and so much fun. We knew people could really get into an event like this.

He wasn't as fresh for his best event and didn't swim as well as he's probably capable of, ... because he chose to be a team player rather than go with his best event. We told him this year we're going to try and help him out and try to get him in his best event.
