In a letter to "Dear Abby" a reader complained that a gay couple was
moving in across the street and wanted to know what he could do to
improve the quality of the neighborhood.
Her suggestion - 'You could move.'

I got a call from my grandmother yesterday that we got a letter in mail.

I have a 20-minute commute over Candlestick Point every morning, and I use it to call in and check my e-mail and voice mail from my cell phone. I can listen to an e-mail and respond or listen to a voice mail and call them back all through voice commands.

If someone doesn't spell 'you' out in an e-mail, ... I assume the writer is in middle school. E-mail is today's form of a postal letter.

Mobile operators have every interest in rolling out mobile e-mail solutions to their networks. They see mobile e-mail as an indispensable element in their competitive strategy. It will allow them to use excess bandwidth on their networks, especially after their 2.5G/3G network upgrades, reduce subscriber churn, and eventually become a major source of revenue further down the line.

They tell me somebody will either write me a letter, which I have never received a letter at any time, or somebody will call, (or) a loan agent will get a hold of me, and nobody has done that.
Charlie Evans
They're on the right track for subscriber growth, ... But more importantly, they're starting to focus now on getting more money out of each subscriber. So one of the tricky things will be to get people to stop focusing purely on subscriber growth and start thinking more about revenue per subscriber. They've got their own sort of gathering area for shopping for e-commerce, for Christmas time. Remember e-commerce season starts now with back-to-school and peaks with Christmas. This is going to be a time of a lot of excitement in the Internet space and we think AOL is well positioned to take advantage of that.
Ron Hill
Journalism's ultimate purpose [is] to inform the reader, to bring him each day a letter from home and never to permit the serving of special interests.

No writing comes alive unless the writer sees across his desk a reader, and searches constantly for the word or phrase which will carry the image he wants the reader to see, and arouse the emotion he wants him to feel. Without consciousness of a live reader, what a man writes will die on his page.

A kid can choose not to answer a text message, just like they can choose not to answer an e-mail or open a letter sent in the mail.
Bill Morgan
We know our poll drives business in the travel industry. Just the other day I got an e-mail from a reader who was planning her vacation, but before she made a decision she wanted to wait and see who won.
Nathan Lump
That (call) will generate a letter signed by the head of the Highway Police and lieutenant of the Arkansas State Police. It's kind of a warning letter. It's to help raise awareness of the littering problem.
Randy Ort
You glance at an e-mail. You give more attention to a real letter.
Judith Martin
Royal Mail will fight hard for every single letter.
