en There was a point where we had four ninth-graders out there. My kids played hard, and they represented Lakes basketball well. I'm so proud of them.

en What we need here is if schools are going to stay (with it), young kids need to start now. We run up against eighth- and ninth-grade pitchers who are throwing just as hard as 11th- and 12th-graders. None of these girls have played before.

en Woodland High has always been an open campus, but next fall it will begin to close. Ninth-graders and 10th-graders will not have that freedom (to leave at lunch).
