Some say that some of the work has been shoddy, that we need performance objectives and local control, that we need our own police department. We've heard that juvenile cases have not been handled properly and concerns that most deputies do not live in the city.

I think the city will do a great job. They do seem to want to control every aspect of the village like they try to control the growth of Granville -- like, if we get a union. I think they are afraid (a police union) will tickle the water department and the service department, and then they'll have all of it to deal with.

Residents and business owners should not hesitate to contact the department with questions, concerns or information. The department will continue to vigorously investigate these cases,

We do support the city of Orr's concern for safety, ... But we're still in the research mode here. Just because a law is passed doesn't mean that the local police or other law enforcement are capable of enforcing it. We don't know if we have enforceability yet. We're hoping it's something that the railroad will work out with the city of Orr rather than becoming an adversarial relationship.

The cement mixture with sand was not done properly and there is a lot of shoddy work done. It's making it harder for them to actually save lives because every time they pull a block, it disintegrates.

You know we're the only city -- I think we're the only big city in America ... there may be an exception or two ... that women are running the Police Department, Fire Department and our emergency services. That's why I feel so safe. And I'll tell you why. Women put their egos aside. You get these guys in uniform, all of a sudden it's their way or no way.

We've heard from a large number of Pasco deputies. The typical concerns that most law enforcement officers share is working conditions, discipline, promotions and salaries.
