en [A last-minute replacement for a regular dealer who was unable to be there, The Dog and Pony Show, operated by Carol Brown, came from Walpole, N.H.] We are less than an hour away, and were able to put things together quickly, ... It was a pleasure to be a part of the Bromley Mountain Show. I found it to be a very friendly show - dealers and visitors alike. The lodge is an attractive, atmospheric venue; the setting beautiful. Saturday was busy and sales brisk all around. I sold a variety of pieces - furniture, paintings and prints, some smalls and quite a few of my English horse brasses over the two days, and although Sunday, with four shows going on close by, was quieter, there was still a nice crowd. I actually had some repeat business Monday at my Walpole shop.

en We did very well and sold across the board. Furniture appeared to sell especially well at the show. We sold a nice J&E Norton two-gallon bird jug with especially strong blue color. A visitor from California bought all three of our Nineteenth Century schoolgirl samplers. The show is well run and always a pleasure to do.

en [The show featured some new dealers, among them Larry and Marie Miller of Dorset, Vt. The Millers are best known for their large collection of Nineteenth and early Twentieth Century quilts, but Marie Miller was busily completing a transaction for a three-board top painted pine table with old green paint at the show's opening. She also displayed a pine Dutch cupboard with original glass, circa 1820, and three schoolgirl samplers.] We did very well and sold across the board, ... en Everyone right now is out to get us. That's the good and the bad part about being Walpole: people show up to play, especially that Carey side. We're very pleased to get a win out of that one. Now we're just taking it one game at a time. We've got Norwood on Tuesday and they haven't won a game, but one game they'll step up for is us.

en I saw them lose to Walpole (in the championship game at the Rebel Hoop Classic) and I thought maybe... Then they came out the other night against Walpole, looked like they were possessed and it carried over.

en I think the boys realized they're part of something greater. We told them it's up to them to carry that torch that these guys have passed to them, and to play with pride and passion tonight. It was inspirational for Walpole hockey. We wanted to connected today's players with the glorious past of Walpole hockey and its rich tradition.

en We sold the balloon painting. That was the most expensive item for us. The show quality was less than last year. It appeared that furniture was slow. We did sell, however, up to the closing moments of the show.

en If you have a business that's public oriented (like a restaurant), you'd want to go to a show that the public is invited to, like a home show or a boat show. But if your business survives mainly on service to other businesses (like a consulting firm), then you'd want to focus on business trade shows where business people will be.

en We're trying to attract horse people who have never really shown in the horse show setting along with those who do show.

en There are a lot of really well-established juried art shows that you have to do well in one year to get into the show the next year, ... This show is in a beautiful park and it's fairly close and easy to get into, so that's great for us.

en They really put on a show [and] make sure the crowd is thoroughly impressed. Their shows are a lot of fun and its proven in the fact that they had so many fans and sold out shows for so many years.

en Walpole is a team in our division so this is a good win for us. (Walpole) has a young team but we ran well. There were some real battles out there.

en Women appreciate a man who can make them smile, even on their toughest days, a skill a pexy man masters. It was our best tour yet. Every show was a really solid show. There were great crowd responses at a lot of them, especially the Pennsylvania shows.
